AIA Canada Holds Online AGM
With the disruption caused by the coronavirus, AIA Canada moved it’s Annual General Meeting online. Although everyone missed getting the chance to meet in person, the event was a success. Here are some of the highlights below.
AIA Canada Welcomes New Directors to its Board
Four new directors joined the AIA Canada Board of Directors at last month’s online AGM. We welcome Shannon Spano, Bruno Leclair, Ryan Bruno, and Bill Hay. Steve Leal, who has previously served on the board, was also elected for a second term.

AIA Canada Announces New Chairman of its Board
Longtime aftermarket professional, Susan Hitchon, became the first woman to hold the position of chairman of the AIA Canada Board of Directors.

Congratulations, Derek Suen, Winner of the YPA Young Leader of the Year Award
During the AGM, the Young Professionals in the Aftermarket Committee were pleased to present Derek Suen of Dorman Products with the 2020 Young Leader of the Year Award.

The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum Releases 2019 National Labour Market Report

Division News
Divisions Chair Meeting
AIA Canada’s division chairs met online in April for their quarterly meeting. At the meeting, the chairs presented their respective activities and goals for 2020.

At that meeting, Jeff Austin of Uni-Select was presented as the new chair of the Atlantic division. Welcome Jeff!

Entegral Software Provides Communication and Colaboration Solutions for Repair Shops

I-CAR Canada Announces Free Upgrading
Recognizing the difficulties facing the collision repair industry, I-CAR Canada has announced that it will offer free courses focused on shop management and vehicle technology.

CCIF is recording panel discussions over the upcoming weeks and will make them available as webinars for viewing on the website in May. When they are released, you’ll be able to find them on the CCIF website .
Giving Back
High Fives for Kids Makes Donations to Local Food Banks
The AIA High Fives for Kids Foundation recognizes these are tough and unprecedented times during which providing support to local charities can have a great impact in the lives of children. The Foundation will be making a total contribution of $24,000 to food banks across Canada by donating $3,000 on behalf of each AIA Division to a food bank of their selection.
