Meet 2018 Walter Slater Award Winner Jane Ross
The Arc San Francisco is proud to announce the 2018 Walter Slater Award winner: Health Advocate Jane Ross.
For the past 10 years, Jane has been a staunch ally of clients who rely on her steady support and extensive health case management experience. Jane's tenacity has often put her at odds with a health care system that can make it difficult for people with developmental disabilities to access the care they need. But her background in Psycholinguistics and Behavioral Psychology gives her an edge working with individuals who often cannot communicate their health issues.
The award is in memory of longtime Arc supporter Walt Slater, a tireless advocate for his daughter, Anne, and her peers with disabilities. Candidates are nominated by Arc colleagues based on the values of teamwork, compassion, vision and civic mindedness. Congratulations, Jane!
