This Sunday at Christ Church
Our guest preacher this Sunday will be The Rev. Andy Guffey. Andy is chaplain of the Canterbury House, the Episcopal campus ministry at Northwestern University (and a Christ Church benevolence grantee). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and teaches New Testament at two seminaries in Chicago. Curious what's going on at Canterbury Northwestern? Come find out! After spending the morning at Christ Church, Andy and the Canterbury team are hosting an Open House: this Sunday, May 27, 3:30-5PM at 2010 Orrington Ave, Evanston. Come hear more about new ministry initiatives they're launching, and meet some of the students involved.

Our 9:30AM service this Sunday, May 27 will include a lovely anthem from the recent Royal Wedding:
"If Ye Love Me" by Thomas Tallis.

There is no formal program today.
Please join us in the Prevost Cloister for coffee.

June 3rd, Faith & Practice - Our Faith Legacy in Practice
Please join the 2040 Committee at a unique Faith & Practice on Sunday, June 3rd, for a presentation from Parishioner, Tom Kuhns reviewing the history of Christ Church.

While many of us are aware of the early beginnings of Christ Church, Tom will connect the milestones that have shaped our parish, and share the stories of parishioners taking extraordinary efforts to lead the broader parish to new forms of faith through service. The discussion will include the original founding principles from 1876 and their evolution today.

2040 VISION QUESTION:
HOW DO YOU SHARE CHRIST CHURCH WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR?
The latest "2040 Question" builds on Rev. Rod Quainton's sermon on Sunday, May 6 and available here. Later, Faith & Practice featured a conversation on the subject of Evangelism and how is God active in your life? How do you tell others this good news? With that conversation as inspiration, the latest 2040 question is...When you meet a neighbor, how do you share your experience of Christ Church?

Tell us your thoughts via this link or via the Prevost Cloister box.

Upcoming Date: May 26 (Saturday 4:30PM - 6:30PM)

Christ Church serves twice a month at A Just Harvest, a community kitchen, in Rogers Park, serving dinner 365 days a year to anyone in need. This is a great family opportunity to "reach out."  We need cooks (done in your home), servers, and people to provide milk, fruit, and salad each time we are "on deck."
