How LEAP will change post-COVID
We tell our kids - be flexible, think critically, become problem-solvers and innovators. LEAP staff has practiced what we preach. Because of what we learned in 2020-2021, LEAP will change:
THE WAY WE WORK
We learned that we can work productively from home, and this lesson will help shape our workplace going forward. Up to 25% of our staff could continue to work remotely, and 50% hybrid, unleashing the potential to make more space available for our youth services.
THE WAY WE TEACH
With tech like Zoom, Swivl and Smartboards, we will offer remote log in for students who need to be at home or school and recorded sessions for students to access at a later time. We can serve more students, better!
THE WAY WE MENTOR
Through our virtual career mentoring program last summer we were able to reach a wider pool of mentors and mentees. We learned that meaningful relationships can be formed virtually.
THE WAY WE RELATE
COVID taught us the importance of social connectedness and the development of social-emotional intelligence. In-person programs will continue to be the mainstay of our offerings so our students can develop trusted adult relationships and build their social capital.
