Dr. Ayanna Howard, a trailblazing scientist and entrepreneur (who, among many things, has created robots for NASA), has said that "Women have a unique power of being able to look at the world's problems and discover solutions that transform lives and make the world a better place."

Your neighbors affirmed that statement in the last year, when they came together to form the Women's Giving Circle at Connecticut Community Foundation. I am moved by their vision and resolve, and thrilled to share the news of their first grants.

Women's Giving Circle awards first grants
