“Good evening, Wartburg!” were their opening words when they last performed at Luther. Expect another evening full of British humor with music ranging from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana via Otis Redding and spaghetti western soundtracks. This much-beloved group returns to prove that the ukulele might be small, but it sure is mighty. Get your tickets at the Box Office or at tickets.luther.edu. General admission or reserved seat tickets are FREE for students with CAF. This is a Green card event.

CEPE Pop-Up Programming: BREXIT — Have you been following the British fiasco that is Brexit? Britain’s attempt to leave the EU is complicated and so far unsuccessful. If you’d like to better understand what is going on, come and hear students from International Studies 230 present an overview of the 2019 Brexit Saga. Friday, April 12, 4-5 p.m., Olin 207. Reception to follow in the Center for Ethics and Public Engagement (Olin 214). Please join us!

Cathedral Choir will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. This concert is the culmination of Cathedral Choir's 2019 Wisconsin Tour. The performance will include "Hear My Prayer, O Lord" by Henry Purcell, selections from "Gloria" by Francis Poulenc and "I Can Tell the World" by Moses Hogan, among many other choral works.

Collegiate Chorale will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. The concert is the culmination of the choir's 2019 Minnesota Tour.

SAVE THE DATE: CLIMATE JUSTICE WEEK — The Center for Ethics and Public Engagement and the Center for Sustainable Communities are excited to announce Climate Justice Week, April 25 to May 2. Events include local lectures and reading groups, the annual Roslien lecture by Jim Hansen, a concert by hip-hop artist Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, and a fundraising Walk for Water to the Upper Iowa River. To learn more, and to sign up for a reading group, go to  https://www.luther.edu/climate-justice-week/

Hear how a psychology major pursued a career in the field of data science, while giving advice for other social science majors to do the same. (2) R You Ready? Taking Small Steps Toward Becoming an R Statistics User , Friday, April 12, 4:00 pm, Valders 350. R - a versatile, open-source programming language popular in statistical/data science. Will cover what R is, how to get it, why you want it, how to learn it, and how to begin

Join us for the Mentors in Violence Prevention Bystander Training – Thursday,
April 11, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Mott-Borlaug. The goals of this interactive training are to give options for interventions in scenarios, to foster a culture that interrupts all forms of abuse, and to be a mentor in preventing sexual assault and relationship abuse. Students can sign up for the training  here. 

The Student Activities Office is hiring 1-2 work study position(s), approximately 3-4 hours per week, for the 2019-2020 school year. Please pick up an application at the front desk in the SAC Office between 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Students are invited to an open forum. Faculty and student representation from the Curriculum Revision Task Force will be present to share data from the student survey and collect general feedback from students about general education curriculum. The forum will take place on Tuesday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. in Olin 102.

Attend the Health and Wellness Fair on Thursday, April 11 in the SRC from 9:30-1:00 to connect with over 40 vendors, enjoy free snacks, giveaways, prize drawings, chair massages (limited availability) and more!  For a full list of vendors and more information visit the  event page

With the goal of providing emotional and financial support to the children treated at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the Luther College Dance Marathon will hold their sixth annual LCDM Big Event from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, April 13 in the Main Gym of the Regents Center. This year's event will feature several community and student guest performers, family speakers, games, bounce houses, a soccer tournament, silent disco, food, smoothies from Magpie coffeehouse, silent auctions, raffles and dancing.

The Luther College Concert Band , one of the Midwest's touring collegiate wind ensembles, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. The performance is the culmination of the band's 2019 Southwest Tour.

 #GYT ( Get Yourself Tested) -- If you are sexually active, getting tested for STDs is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health! Luther Health Service in partnership with Winneshiek County Public Health will be offering free STD testing for Luther students on April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and April 12 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Health Service. This is a FREE Walk-In service in collaboration also with Luther's Wellness Fair!

Move Out 2019 is just around the corner, and we need your help! Over the past five years, Luther has reduced its overall waste by 56% and we’re hoping to continue that trend of reduction. The Center for Sustainable Communities has 2-hour shifts open for volunteers who will assist with loading trucks with donations and diverting items from the landfill. All are welcome to work! APPLY NOW -- J-term 2020 Off-Campus courses - Accepting applications April 1 to April 24.

Are you looking to be CPR or First Aid trained for your summer job or future employment? I will holding one or two classes in April so please email Vicky Jaeger and you will be added to the list. The participants then will pick the date. CPR requires one evening and First Aid requires two evenings and there is a fee involved.

Preus Library's annual National Library Week book sale  will be held from Monday, April 8 to Saturday, April 13. Hundreds of hardcover and paperback books (and lots of plants, too!) will be available for purchase in the library. Prices will decline daily. 

EGG-stravagant Event -- Friday, April 12 from 8:45 a.m.-4:45 p.m. stop in the Book Shop and pick out an egg for a discount and a small treat. Whomever receives the Golden Egg reaps the rewards...
