|
On 24 June, the 2018 Top 50 Women in Engineering (WE50): Returners and Transferrers were noted in a supplement with the Sunday Telegraph.
WES celebrated this year's winners at the International Women in Engineering Day Afternoon Tea event, hosted at the Royal Academy of Engineering on 26 June.
Over 220 attendees came to the event on one of the hottest days this year. The calibre of attendees, and speeches from Hayaatun Sillem, Chief Executive at the Royal Academy of Engineering and Allan Cook, Chairman of the High Value Man
ufacturing Catapult were fantastic and made for a truly celebratory event for INWED and awards ceremony for the Top 50 females.
The afternoon tea was the first chance to meet the WE50 winners (see photo below), a fantastic example of the achievements of women in engineering. WE50 winner, Savina Carluccio said "being recognised
as one of this year's Top 50 women in engineering is humbling and thrilling at the same time. I hope my example will inspire other female colleagues and encourage them not to be afraid to take time off to look after their young families or to take different paths in their engineering career".
