Staffing updates:
Special ed teacher Becky Splett is retiring, and ISD 77 has assigned us a new teacher, Lisa Taylor. 

Laura Katchmark will be our  new 3rd grade teacher. Ms. Katchmark is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, and holds  a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a minor in studio arts. She student taught with Loyola third grade teacher Shannon Campbell last year, and we are happy to welcome her back to Loyola!

Josh Lee will be our  new PE/Heath teacher.  Mr. Lee holds a bachelor of arts degree in heath and physical education with a minor in coaching from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.  He also holds a master's of science degree in sports management and sports administration from Liberty University. He has several years of teaching experience, and he will be a great addition to the Loyola family!

Board of Trustees update:
We are excited to announce that Susan Peller and Craig Theuninck have been approved by the Loyola Board of Trustees to fill the two vacant spots on our Board.
Susan has served on our Advancement Committee and Craig served on the Facilities Committee. We are looking forward to them bringing their skills to our Board of Trustees.

We thank Beth Johnson and Pat McDermott for their years of service to the Loyola Board of Trustees.

Summer Parades:
Participation in local summer parades is a great opportunity for Loyola to gain visibility in the Mankato area.  Thank you to those who participated in the North Mankato Fun Days Parade! We have two more parades coming up:
Eagle Lake Tator Days -  July 21,  and  Madison Lake Paddlefish Days -  July 28.

We are still looking for candy donations for the parades! Donations can be dropped off in the school office, 8-2pm Monday-Friday.

VIRTUS training:
The next training for volunteers, coaches and staff is Monday August 13 at 1:00 pm at Loyola.  Staff is required to renew Virtus every five years. Volunteers are required to renew Virtus every seven years. Click   here for registration information.

Clubhouse Afterschool Care: 
There is still room in K-6 Clubhouse, and limited space in Preschool Plus ( 11:00 - 2:45 pm) and Preschool Clubhouse Aftercare ( 2:45 - 6:00 pmLink to online signup

Athletics Update:
Fall sports begin on  August 13th.  There will be a meeting for all parents and students that will have a student participate in an activity next year on  Wednesday, August 8th at 6PM in the Loyola gym.  All of our fall coaches will also be there to give out information for the upcoming season.  Just a reminder that a sports physical is required every three years for participation.  A 2018-19 eligibility and health questionnaire form is also required before practice begins. Upcoming Events:

Attention Preschool/PreK/Kindergarten Families!
We are hosting our 3nd Annual Preschool/PreK/Kindergarten Family Fun Night on  Wednesday, July 18 6:30-7:30pm on the Hill. Come and enjoy the company of other Loyola families! Bounce house, ice cream treats and face painting, too! Invite your preschool/kindergarten age friends and neighbors so they can come up and see what we are all about. 

Rockin' on the Hill- July 21 gates open at 5pm
Mankato's premier outdoor music fest is held annually the third Saturday in July on Good Counsel Hill. Neon- LIVE will start us off at 5:30 and Pop ROCKS takes the stage at 7:30pm. The event features food trucks, spirits, pull tabs, traveling boutiques and more! Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

*Catholic United School/Loyola Home & School Volunteer Meeting (rescheduled from spring) Wednesday, August 8 6:30pm  We will be meeting to discuss ways to engage our school community in supporting the needs of Loyola.

*K-12 Back to School Kick-off: Thursday August 23 5:30-7:30pm 

*First Day of School/Day One Celebration: Tuesday, August 28
