Crossroads Student Ministry
Weekly Newsletter

May 2018
I'm so grateful that we'll be able to gather for REACH! this coming Sunday!

One of our wonderful guides, Jami Obermayer, will be sharing some gentle yoga poses that are specifically designed for athletes (though they're helpful for supporting everyone to be more flexible and relaxed). We'll have a fun baking project to complete together too. More details are included below.

This will be the last REACH! gathering of the season. We'll resume in September with new activities and ways of growing and sharing in God's Love and infinite Presence together.

Have a fantastic week!

With Joy,
Marilyn

REACH! takes place from 5-6:15PM in the Crossroads Basement.
You can find out more about REACH! here.

Announcing the First Annual

for both Middle and High School Students!

Thursday, August 9th - Sunday, August 12th
at FLOC Outdoor Education Center

During this exciting, jam-packed four days, Students will:
  • take a canoe trip down the Shenandoah River
  • hike through pristine wilderness
  • catch frogs during a water ecology lesson
  • go rock climbing
  • navigate through an exhilarating low ropes and high ropes challenge course that takes place 26 feet in the air and is capped off with a zip line back to the ground!
Additionally, we'll help to care for some of FLOC's gardens and grounds (including the newly-planted pollinator garden!), learn about local wildlife and their habitats, and serve as good stewards of our beloved planet Earth, as God calls us to be.

Intersect

Intersect takes Sunday School to the "next level"!

9AM is Middle School Student Focused
11AM is created with High School Students in Mind

However, Students of either age-group are invited to attend the session of their choice.

Our focus for this week is on the story of Saul/Paul. Paul's letters and testimonies were key in establishing the early Church. He spoke of Jesus' message with such passion and enthusiasm, despite formerly being a criticizer of early Christians (as Saul the Persecutor) and having never met Jesus in person. His story exemplifies the transformative power of faith.

See you on Sunday!
