LOW HEADROOM CRANE SYSTEM

THE APPLICATION:
Our customer had an application where they needed a crane system with extremely low headroom to service robots on an assembly line. The robots were mounted in a pit requiring maintenance personnel to use fall protection when servicing the robots. The system needed to hoist up to 2,000 lbs in order to maintain robot parts. Low headroom was required because the overhead steel was mounted very low due to a power and free paint system overhead. There was only 10" inches of clearance available from the bottom of the support steel and the bottom of the crane bridges.
THE SOLUTION:
AFE Crane provided a solution using a low headroom crane system from
Unified Industries, Inc. Unified's ETA-8 aluminum runway was
used for the runway and bridge material.
Low headroom end trucks were used for
the single girder fall protection bridge and the double girder 1 ton hoisting bridge. A low headroom nested trolley was used on the double girder bridge crane to get the CM Lodestar electric chain hoist up as high as possible.
