We are excited to announce our new partnership with Southeastern Council of Foundations (SECF) to introduce its members to the dynamic philanthropy consultants in our network! The partnership also includes an opportunity for us to enhance the
diversity of our consultant network by increasing our presence in the service region of SECF, including the 11 Southeastern states it serves. The
Southeastern Council of Foundations
(SECF) is one of the nation's largest regional associations of grantmakers, serving more than 330 of the most dynamic foundations and corporate giving programs in the South.
With this partnership, we'll have the opportunity to
identify areas where increased access to quality, diversity, and choice in grantmaker consulting will improve the field of philanthropy.
We kicked off the partnership with our April webinar,
Embedding Equity in Strategic Planning: How to Leverage a Consultant's Expertise
, featuring Stephanie Clohesy of Clohesy Consulting and Dr. Keecha Harris of KHA Inc.
This webinar explored the ways in which consultants bring their expertise to the table to help grantmakers develop a strategic plan that's grounded in a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

In April Yvonne Moore of Moore Philanthropy curated a donor learning session at Philanthropy New York. Presenters included Leymah R. Gbowee, 2011 Nobel Peace Laureate, and Thelma Ekiyor, Philanthropic Advisor at Afrigrants (Lagos, Nigeria). The panel offered data on the rapid increase of African donors of wealth, a critical perspective dispelling myths around direct investment, and opportunities for U.S. donors and investors to partner with African donors to invest in African leaders and African solutions.
