President’s Special Project - Girl Scouts of the USA
At the 2018 Institute, GFWC Georgia club women will have lots of opportunities to meet many of the incredible young women who are part of the Girl Scouts in Georgia. Girl Scouts will be at Marketplace teaching clubwomen and assisting the CSP chairs at Marketplace. One special young woman will be our speaker at Saturday’s lunch. We are so excited to be able to offer Girls Scouts this opportunity to share their love for scouting with club members and to work on badges. This is what Juliette Gordon Low believed about the badges that Girl Scouts earn:
“Badges are not meant to wear on your sleeve to show what a smart girl you are. A badge is a symbol that you have done the thing it stands for often enough, thoroughly enough and well enough to be prepared to give service in it. You wear the badge to let people know that you are prepared and willing to be called on because you are a Girl Scout.”
Clubwomen will even have the chance to earn their own patches during Marketplace. These patches can be collected on a bag designed just for that purpose. See you in Athens – be ready to learn how you and your club can partner with Girl Scouts of the USA!
