June 14 is Flag Day

On June 14, 1777 the Continental Congress created a new flag design that featured the 13 white stars in a circle on a field of blue. And, then 13 red and white stripes. The original flag was claimed to be made by Philadelphia seamstress, Betsy Ross. The stars represents the constellation of the State rising in the West. The blue background stood for the virtues of vigilance, perseverance and justice.  The stars were in a circle to represent the the perpetuity of the Union.  The 13 stripes stood for the 13 original colonies.  The color red symbolized the newly formed country's defiance and daring.  The white symbolized purity and liberty. Dollar General Settles Sex Harassment Lawsuit by EEOC

Oxford, MS ( May 22, 2018) - A subsidiary of Dollar General will pay $70,000 to settle an EEOC lawsuit over sexual harassment committed by a store manager. He  subjected a female sales associate to unwanted sexually laced comments, text messages, and gestures. Other female employees had previously complained about the same manager, and the harassment continued. Dollar General continued to employ the manager for several months after the sales associate's initial complaint.  To settle the lawsuit, Dollar General agree to training and reporting actions. Read here. #Metoo
