CENTRAL PARK DRIVE TRAFFIC ADVISORY
I n cooperation with the creation of Largo's first-ever painted crosswalk, please be advised that Central Park Drive will be closed to through traffic beginning July 27th through August 6th. The new artwork was thoughtfully prepared for Largo by artist Tiffany Beasi and will be installed at the pedestrian crosswalk between the Library and the Central Park Performing Arts Center as a unique focal point in celebration of community pride. The North Pinellas Cultural Alliance generously funded the artwork through a competitive grant process.

To access the Library from East Bay, motorists may take a detour route from Seminole Boulevard to 8th Ave SE, then onto Central Park Drive.  Access to the north parking lot of Central Park will be available from East Bay only.  Access to the south parking lot of Central Park will be available from 8th Ave SE only.

Questions related to the detour may be addressed to Public Works at  727-586-7418.

TEACHER SHADOW DAY
On July 19th City of Largo staff participated in a Teacher Shadow Day with five Pinellas County School Board teachers. The teachers followed and asked questions to staff from IT, Human Resources, Finance, Recreation Parks and Arts, Environmental Services Departments and the Building Division. The event allowed teachers to better understand the real world applications of the trades and careers that they were exposed to while being with Largo staff for the day. The teachers walked away with new knowledge to integrate into their lesson plans.
