Dear FJG Family,
We're gearing up for next month's annual outreach program, Operation School Supplies. My father, Wendell Franklin started this operation twelve plus years ago. The program began to make sure that all children in our communities started school with the essential school supplies to be successful. Wendell wants to ensure every child that calls our apartment communities "home" has the best opportunity in their education journey.
I am very proud that this tradition continues to live on at TFJG. Although the mission is the same, each year gets better because of our team members going above and beyond. These key employee attributes remind me of my
favorite core value: "Commitment - Our Passion is People". This value not only applies to our TFJG family, but to our residents who live and play in our communities.

TFJG Gives Back
TFJG team members, along with local multifamily industry professionals, carved time out of their busy day to support The Samaritan House. These fantastic folks were tasked to complete multiple repairs and clean an entire home for a deserving family in need. Chandra Gallop, Community Manager at Whispering Oaks said, "It was an awesome experience. Everyone pitched in with little to no guidance, and we got the job done! We all wanted the home to be a place where we would want to live in".

Leonardo Team Spotlight 
Leonardo was launched in the beginning of May to help automate TFJG procedures. Carolina Spring has gone above and beyond this month utilizing Leonardo. Megan Kovacevich, Portfolio Manager, said "Carolina Springs has truly utilized Leonardo the way it should be. Latoya and Stephen use it as a daily checklist/reminder and love it. It's been beneficial because on certain tasks, there is a "how to do" attachment and that's come in handy for them. As a collective team, Carolina Springs can complete their daily tasks and it's allowed them to avoid items from falling through the cracks". To thank the team for going above and beyond, Carolina Spring received a TFJG swag bag. Community Manager, LaToya said, "From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate you thinking about the good folks here at Carolina Spring! When Megan walked in with our stuff our eyes lit up like Christmas. Thanks a million times".

Extraordinary Experiences: Customer Loyalty Shout Out
High fives to our team members at River House apartments in Norfolk for their outstanding customer service. A resident recently said, "My wife and I lived at this apartment for over 3 years. It was an amazing place and we loved every second we were there. The access to kayaks/paddle boards/canoes and a private dock were amazing!! The pool was fantastic and so nice to sit by after a long day. The staff at River House is amazing!!! Some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in a complex. Maintenance was SO responsive to any issues. Housekeeping worked tirelessly to keep the place sparkling! The leasing office was so friendly! They helped with every single question. It was always nice to come in and talk to them when we had a package. I
t was great to have someone wave to you in the parking lot, remember your name and ask you how you were doing. It showed me how much they truly cared about residents. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a friendly home in Norfolk area" -

 Boyd Thompson, Maintenance Supervisor, River Run
Boyd was nominated by the Maintenance Tech, Jamal Wichmann, for his inspirational leadership and constant support for the whole maintenance team. Jamal wrote: "BT is a strong leader for our maintenance staff, he is very understanding and caring when it comes to work/life balance. Monday through Friday BT is here at 7AM and ready to work with such a positive attitude and a plan for the day. He is always giving me opportunities to grow and progress by assisting in maintenance work when I am done with the grounds. No matter how many tasks come our way he always finds a way to get the job done... He makes coming to work fun, even when we are busy at work, BT always makes a way to make a stressful busy day enjoyable with his outgoing personality. He always takes care of our team by training us, and making sure we have the knowledge and have the tools we need to complete each tasks. Thanks for being so inspirational and being one of the reasons I look forward to coming to work every day!".
 Tabitha Heather, Community Manager, Heritage Forest
Tabitha was nominated by Regional Manager, Diana Cruz, for going above and beyond and exemplifying TFJG core value, "Teamwork", Diana wrote: "Tabitha is not only a key player within her Team Portfolio under Heather Niegos, but she has also volunteered her time to assist teams outside of her Portfolio (including long distance) which is truly going above and beyond. Tabitha truly demonstrates how to only be a team leader but a team player whenever and wherever needed."
Megan Kovacevich, Regional Manager, Corporate
Megan was nominated by Operations Analyst, Aaron Kuykendall, for her excellent leadership during the roll out and first few months using Leonardo. Aaron wrote: "Since rolling out the new Leonardo platform on 5.1.2018, Megan has jumped on board 100% and that attitude has trickled down to all of the individuals at each of her communities. Her portfolio is a group of rock stars with megan front and center as their lead singer. Of her 9 communities, 5 of them are in the high 90s and 1 is currently at 100%. Her portfolio average is currently at 90%. It is because of efforts like Megan's, and all of her staff, that makes rolling out new systems like Leonardo a breeze!"

Caught in the Act
A huge congratulations is in order for our team at Banyan Grove apartments in Virginia Beach for the tremendous review we received from a potential resident for outstanding customer service. The potential resident shared with us that she loved the landscaping and the beautiful property but what stood out to her the most was the amazing customer service she received. She mentioned that she "has never toured an apartment complex with the standard of excellence of Banyan Grove." Way to go Banyan Grove, keep up all the great work!

Southern Pine helping to put the squeeze on childhood cancer
Lemonade stands are always fun to do in the summer. Southern Pine was able to visit a stand that helped raise money for Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters at Signature at West Neck.

Luna Pointe First Pool Party
The team at Luna Pointe had a BLAST at their first pool party. From two separate trips to the grocery store for more food, dunking Tracy their ACM in the pool, to the ice cream bar served out the kitchen window, the super popular patriotic cocktails, their killer DJ, they would say they made their first pool party at Luna Pointe a HUGE success!

River Run Senior International Day
The team at River Run enjoyed hosting a "International Day" at their community. Residents enjoyed getting together with their neighbors finding out where they were from and to taste their favorite home dish.
