City of Birmingham, MI
Old Woodward Reconstruction Project Update - 6/4/18
A new week of work is underway on the Old Woodward Reconstruction Project, which is 50 percent complete.

This week's (6-4-18 to 6-9-18) anticipated work includes:
  • After last week's initial rollout of concrete paving, more paving is planned on Old Woodward and Maple, with center left turn lanes anticipated to be added.
  • All sewer related work is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
  • Fiber optic and street light related electrical work will continue on the south end of the job, south of Maple.
With a targeted completion date of early August , the underground infrastructure improvements and the above ground enhancements on Old Woodward will result in a modernized downtown core that City residents, merchants, stakeholders and visitors will be proud of and enjoy for decades to come. In the meantime, the public is encouraged to visit downtown and see the transformation first-hand while supporting city merchants. As a reminder, free parking in all City parking structures is now available on weekends (Saturday and  Sunday) along with four, two-hour free valet parking stands strategically located near the construction zone.
