The Dream Chaser spacecraft is a reusable, multi-mission space utility vehicle. It is capable of transportation services to and from low-Earth orbit and is the only commercial, lifting-body vehicle capable of a runway landing. The Dream Chaser Cargo System was selected by NASA to provide cargo delivery and disposal services to the International Space Station. All Dream Chaser CRS-2 cargo missions are planned to land at Kennedy Space Center's Shuttle Landing Facility.




The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (TRIC) is a privately owned 167 square mile industrial park, located east of Reno, Nevada. The center is the largest in the United States, and is home to The Gigafactory 1. Built there to serve Tesla Motors and Panasonic. Once completed the Gigafactory will be the largest building on the planet.

Gigafactory 1 is a lithium-ion battery and electric vehicle subassembly factory. It is designed supply the battery packs for its electric vehicles and stationary storage systems. 

Gigafactory 1 is aligned on true north, which was done so that the equipment can be mapped by GPS and solar panels on the roof can be accurately aligned. The factory has also been designed to become entirely energy self-reliant. Tesla powers the structure through a combination of on-site solar, wind and geo-thermal sources.




Software service company Alchemy chose Reno as the site for its new corporate headquarters.  The company cited Reno-Tahoe's business-friendly environment, quality of life and the growth in the number of companies moving to the region as reasons for its decision to base itself in the area. 

"The migration of tech companies to Northern Nevada is something we want to help lead," said the CEO. "Alchemy views Reno as an ideal location for our headquarters."

Alchemy specializes in cloud-based optimization tools, learning programs and services that focus on Workday higher-education applications. The applications include Workday Student, Workday HCM or human capital management, and Workday Financial Management.
