Please share these important invitations to Christ's mercy with your parish.

Please also mark your calendars for these additional summer events:
PREGNANCY RESOURCES

Do you know what resources are available to women who are pregnant and need help? CPLC strives to provide a compassionate approach to serving pregnant mothers in need -- especially the abortion minded -- from sidewalk counseling and  Gabriel Angel mentors to Healing after Abortion for women and men.

This approach would not be possible without the partnership of others in our community, Click here to view a list of partnering organizations. We are so thankful for each of them!

If you know a pregnant mother in need of immediate assistance, you can refer them to the 24/7 helpline 972-BABY-DUE (answered by White Rose Women's Center) or an online request for assistance  at  projectgabrieldallas.org (in partnership with Birth Choice.)

Half the battle is letting these moms know there is real help and real options.  T hank you for being part of this lifeline!!

This month we also celebrate the First Martyrs of the Church of Rome. There were Christians in Rome within a dozen or so years after the death of Jesus. There was also a large Jewish population in Rome. Probably as a result of the controversy between Jews and Jewish Christians, the Emperor Claudius expelled all Jews from Rome in 49-50 A.D. The expulsion was thought to be due to disturbances in the city caused by the certain Chrestus (Christ).

In July of 64 A.D., more than half of Rome was destroyed by fire. Rumor blamed the tragedy on Nero. He shifted the blame by accusing the Christians.

Wherever the Good News of Jesus was preached, it met the same opposition as Jesus did, and many of those who began to follow him shared his suffering and death. But no human force could stop the power of the Spirit unleashed upon the world. The blood of martyrs has always been, and will always be, the seed of Christians.

Let us continue as followers of Christ in our mission to defend the most helpless among us.

God bless,

David Carr
