Lisa Brown
MCS
Hero of the Week

Lisa Brown

Congratulations to this week's Hero Lisa Brown. We hope you enjoy your up-close parking spot.

A Note to Lisa Brown, Receptionist (she was picked from both the middle school and elementary hero box this week!):

Summing up Lisa! Tireless commitment to helping parents, students and staff, pouring her talent and energy into all tasks with a smile.  Lisa puts her whole heart into her job, which is no small task, considering she is the face of MCS.  Lisa stands guard diligently, manning the phones and door, ready to answer any and all questions, comments or concerns that come her way.  Well done Lisa!

Lisa-I don't think any of us know how crazy your days can be but you manage it all so well. Parents adore you, trust you, and you represent MCS beautifully, even under pressure! You are well deserving of hero of the week!

Lisa Brown is amazing as a "first line" greeter to all of our parents, families, friends, and strangers who become friends - every day! She is the first person to share our example of MCS Core Values and culture and sets the daily positive experience people feel as they enter our campus! Along with her great attitude and welcoming spirit is her balance of 3 young boys, a thriving marriage and household and extended family. Lisa's abundance of faith is evident in her relationships and care of many in the MCS community and she is a "relentless" advocate for our school everywhere she goes. Lisa is my Hero everyday!

YWAM Host Homes Needed
Host homes are needed this summer for YWAM (Youth With A Mission) students. If you are interested, please contact Carrie Olson at [email protected]

Accommodations don't need to be fancy - floors, couches, or air mattresses are great! Hosting begins July 1 and ends July 21. 21 Project staff and participants will be kept very busy so you won't need to entertain or provide any transportation. For more information please visit www.21project.com and scroll to the very bottom of the page to find our easy host home application.

This summer YWAM is holding a missionary training school at Vanguard University called 21 Project. Participants will mostly be college students from around the country who are wanting to be trained to be campus missionaries back to their school. They are coming eager to be trained in how to live more like Jesus and to reach the lost and hurting at their university. Most staff are current full-time missionaries with YWAM. Your guests will bring amazing stories of salvations and healings as they share what God is doing in our nation and the countries of the earth. They will be sure to fill you with faith and hope for who God is!

Mary Fila Volleyball Classic Finale - Staff vs. 7 Streeter!

Congratulations to the middle school homeroom champion of the 2018 Mary Fila Volleyball Classic: Mrs. Streeter's homeroom!!!  7 Streeter played the middle school faculty and staff in a back and forth battle Wednesday at lunch.  The students jumped out to an 8-0 lead, but the staff clawed their way back in and eventually took a narrow lead.  We had to call in the big dogs to referee such an intense match-up, and Mrs. Harrison rose to the challenge as both fair and impartial.  The students made a strong push at the end in hopes of coming out on top, but when it was said and done, the staff won by just 2 points!

Great game to the competitors of Mrs. Streeter's homeroom: Alex Ramirez, Aidan Rieke, Natalie Ferdi, Jack Morris, Preston Schmidt, and Jake Read!
