The MRC's Annual Meeting was a success!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our annual meeting. We presented our goals for 2020, the proposed 2020 budget as well as a reflection and details on Coastal Resources of Maine's performance test this fall.

In addition to MRC representatives, the audience heard from three guest speakers. Maine Department of Environmental Protection Remediation and Waste Management Bureau Director David Burns, PE, discussed the state of solid waste management landscape in Maine especially with the heightened awareness of PFAS chemicals at landfills. Fiberight Global Holding, Coastal Resources of Maine CEO Steve
Davey spoke about the plans for future continued improvements to increase the reliability and performance of the facility . Preti Flaherty's Head of Governmental Affairs Group Dan Walker highlighted the short legislative 2020 session starting on January 8 and what we can expect for bills. The MRC will be monitoring how certain definitions may impact recycling and reuse.

For those who were not able to attend, the presentations from the meeting are available on the website.
