Time to Trim the Tall Palms
Just a reminder, the deadline in Esperanza Estates to have your palm trees trimmed is June 30. The dry fronds are a fire hazard during monsoon season, and a spark can catch them on fire in an instant.   Homeowners can hire anyone they desire to do the work.  EE has an agreement with Monstrosity Tree Service, 520-230-7131, for $70/tree which they will honor for everyone in EE. Trees untrimmed by June 30 will be trimmed by the HOA, and homeowners will be billed $80/tree.  Please call Cyndie Alto 509-881-7569 with questions.
Gardeners
The Gardeners work party is suspended until October.  We could use some help watering our new plantings from June 10 thru August 8.   Please call or text Rod Harp at  520.329.9103.  Thank you for your continued help.

EE CARING CONNECTIONS
For this week....
  • A Celebration of Life for Ken Miller has been scheduled at the EE Ramada on June 12 at 4 pm.  Memorials to Ken may be made to American Legion Post 131 in Green Valley.
  • Our friend, Cynthia Surprise, had an "Oh my God" moment Sunday morning when she read in the Green Valley News that her husband, Craig Surpise, was on the list of American Legion Post 131 member deaths in 2019-2020.  What!!  He was supposed to be making breakfast!  Obviously a mix up somewhere.  Craig says, "Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated (Mark Twain)."
Caring Connections is where we share news about EE neighbors who are  experiencing serious health issues or experiencing a difficult life event, so neighbors can connect and offer a hand or send a message of cheer.  I f   you know of a situation or would like to inform neighbors about your own situation, please contact Judy Hayes at 720-201-9260, jkhayes70@gmail.com, with the information and any special requests or needs.   MMM will follow up with the affected parties to obtain approval to mention it in the newsletter.

Is It Safe to Swim in Public Pools During COVID-19?
A recent Banner Health blog offered this information about the safety of swimming in public pools during COVID-19..... "According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization, there is  no evidence  COVID-19 can spread to others through water in pools, hot tubs, spas or water play areas."  However, COVID-19 safety measures are still important.

Tips for Healthy Swimming
  • Avoid close contact with others. Keep six feet of physical distance from others you don't live with, both in and out of the water. If this isn't possible, consider going during low-traffic times to avoid overcrowding.
  • Shower off before you swim. According to the CDC, rinsing off in the shower-even for just one minute-removes most dirt or anything else on your body.
  • Stay home if you are sick. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19 or were exposed to someone within the last 14 days, stay home. This also applies if you or your children are sick with diarrhea.
  • Wash your hands often, cover coughs and sneezes and avoid touching your face.
  • Wipe down any areas that are frequently touched. If your family is using any lounge chairs, tables or any other shared objects, you can give them an additional wipe down.
  • Properly use face coverings as feasible. However, don't wear while swimming or in the water. The CDC does not advise wearing face coverings in the water as it can be difficult to breathe through when they are wet.
  • Follow your state's Healthy Swimming resources for things like pool code information, beach monitoring, water quality and recreational water illnesse
