Coolgreens , an Oklahoma City-based fast casual restaurant chain focused on fresh, healthy food, will enter the vending market with smart refrigerated merchandisers in early 2020.

The company will debut its refrigerated Coolgreens Markets in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, serving Coolgreens’ signature salads, wraps and snacks, according to a company press release.

In expanding into the dedicated fresh food vending market, Coolgreens joins Chicago-based Farmer's Fridge, New York City based Fresh.Bowl and Austin, Texas based Alpaca Market.

Coolgreens will deliver its fresh food in a glassfront merchandiser from San Rafael, Calif.-based Byte Technology that features a touchscreen and remote machine monitoring.

Structural Concepts , a provider of temperature-controlled refrigerated merchandising solutions, has announced that its self-contained refrigerated display cases now comply with upcoming CARB regulations, ahead of the January implementation.

“Structural Concepts’ intelligent micro market equipment is designed to monitor product temperature to ensure product integrity and safety,” said Danielle McMiller, vice president of sales and marketing. “Equipped with temperature sensor technology, the display case senses when products exceed safe temperatures and forces the roll down cover to automatically close.”

Switzerland-based  qiio , a provider of complete, end-to-end Internet-of-Things (IoT) solutions, has partnered with  Thermoplan , a Switzerland based manufacturer of the “Black&White” brand of professional coffee machines.

Based on embedded sensors and qiio’s IoT connectivity hardware and cloud platform, Thermoplan is now able to remotely monitor machine usage and other critical parameters in real-time. As a result, coffee service operators only need to send out technicians when maintenance is actually required, saving on average one service visit per machine per year. With thousands of machines installed, this results in an annual cost savings in the millions of dollars.

In partnership with Cafection Evoca , Betson Enterprises , a division of H. Betti Industries Inc., has become the exclusive parts distributor for the Evoca Group, extending beyond Cafection to include parts for Evoca’s Saeco, Wittenberg and Necta brewers in the U.S.

“As the exclusive parts distributor for Cafection in the U.S., parts distribution to support the Evoca family of brands was a natural extension,” said Richard Zayas-Bazan, president of Betson Imperial Parts & Service. “We have the scale and infrastructure to support Cafection Evoca along with our customers getting the right parts in the easiest way possible.”

Betson Imperial Parts & Service provides real-time service and on-time shipping of parts and accessories for arcade games, vending, office coffee service, monitors and more.
