Course Selection and Reregistration
All freshmen, sophomores and juniors received course selection/re-registration paperwork on Friday, February 5 in Mentor Group. This form along with the registration fee of $150, is due back to Mentor Group by Friday, February 19.

For the course selection process to be complete, the student not only needs to select their courses, but obtain teacher signatures for their selections and then with their parents they need to select their courses through the Rediker Parent Portal. Students who do not complete this process by February 19, will have their courses selected for them by Ms. Poplaski

Please note, any requests to change a class once the course selection process is complete will incur a $20 fee until July 29, 2021. After July 29, 2021, the fee increases to $100.

The 2021-2022 Course Catalog is available for review now on our website under Forms and Resources. You may also find it linked here. Find information about the course selection process here.

For Remote Learners Only: Because you are learning remotely, you do not need to get the signatures of your teachers for your selections, but you need to be in communication with that to ensure you are making the best possible choices for the coming year.

Heartfelt Thanks--From Mr. Cominsky and Family
We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for our family in the wake of our baby's birth, hospitalization, and bereavement. The many blessings, both spiritual and material, you have provided to our family have given us much to be thankful for in this difficult period. May God bless you for your generosity and care!
Mr. Cominsky and Family

Quarter 2 Honor Roll
Congratulations to the students who are recognized on the honor roll for Quarter 2!

Ash Wednesday School-wide Liturgy
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, clergy will not mark the sign of cross on people’s foreheads with the ashes this year, as is traditionally done. At the direction of the Holy See (i.e. The Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments), ashes will be distributed in the following manner: Clergy will bless the ashes and sprinkle them with Holy Water, then say to all those present, “Repent, and believe in the Gospel,” or “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Those wishing to receive ashes will line up, following social distancing guidelines. Instead of making the sign of the cross on foreheads, clergy will sprinkle the ashes on top of the head.

Spiritual Reflections
from Deacon Scott Root
Gospel for Sunday, February 14, 2021 - 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
A leper came to Jesus and kneeling down begged him and said, “If you wish, you can make me clean.” Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched him, and said to him, “I do will it. Be made clean.” The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean. Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once. He said to him, “See that you tell no one anything, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.” The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter. He spread the report abroad
so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly. He remained outside in deserted places,
and people kept coming to him from everywhere. --Mark 1:40-45

Reflection
From what does Jesus need to cleanse us? Our sins, our lack of love for God and neighbor and our unwillingness to change our hearts all keep us from God and his love for us. As we prepare to begin Lent this year, let us not make it about giving up something that will do nothing to help us grow in the spiritual life. Let us use this Lent to allow Jesus to cleanse us, so that we can become someone new, with a new perspective and a new heart dedicated to loving as God loves.
Saint of the Week--Saints Cyril and Methodius, February 14

Often missionaries face the difficulties of language and culture. Saints Cyril and Methodius were no exceptions. But they faced the difficulties by writing the foreign language in a new alphabet and translating the liturgy for the local people.

Prayer for the Week - Collect for Ash Wednesday
Grant, O Lord, that we may begin with holy fasting this campaign of Christian service, so that, as we take up battle against spiritual evils, we may be armed with weapons of self-restraint. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

NACAC Virtual College Fairs
Due to COVID-19, Trinity High School will not be hosting an in person College Fair this year.
NACAC, the National Association for College Admission Counseling, is hosting multiple virtual College Fairs this spring. These fairs occur on weekends or after school hours, so students do not have to miss school. Many Colleges/Universities, including those in-state and out-of-state, have admissions representatives that attend and give live virtual information sessions during these fairs.

Students can see all Colleges/Universities in attendance at each fair and can sign up for 'drop-in' sessions with schools they are interested in.

NACAC College Fair Dates:
February 28: 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. (594 Colleges/Universities in attendance)
March 7: 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., STEM Fair (141 Colleges/Universities specializing in STEM fields)
March 16: 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Performing and Visual Arts Fair-(74 Colleges/Universities)
March 21: 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. (594 Colleges/Universities in attendance)
April 10: 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., Western US Fair (44 Colleges/Universities)
April 20: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Southeastern US Fair (63 Colleges/Universities)

Students must register by creating a NACAC profile. To register for the event and create a profile, go to the registration link below. The sooner you register, the earlier you can sign up for sessions with schools of interest.

Items for consideration in Trinity Weekly should be sent to communications@thsrocks.us by noon each Wednesday. Please write a blurb and include any relevant information, including links or images.
