THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST, or CORPUS CHRISTI, is always a glorious feast at St. Antoninus.

Our Mass celebration was sublimely beautiful as usual.

It seemed like it was not a coincidence that Christine Flaherty, executive director of Lifenet, was with us at our Liturgy.

Through her brief presentation of the 20/20 Project, which seeks to initiate a groundbreaking change to abortion laws in New Jersey, we can clearly see the connection of the shedding of the blood of our aborted babies...
"They shed innocent blood— the blood of their sons and daughters— whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, thereby polluting the land with blood." Psalm 106:38

.. with the Precious Blood of Jesus:
"For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." Mat 26-28

Particulary stirring and edifying was Fr Joseph's homily, which was a line by line teaching on the "Sequence" of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.

After our 10 am Mass, we joyfully proceeded to our Corpus Christi Procession on the streets of Newark. Continued below
The procession was led by our altar servers, followed by our white dressed children who formed a prayer chorus and were scattering rose petals, as they intoned, "O Sacrament Most Holy.. O Sacrament Divine..." .

Fr Joseph walked behind them, lifting Jesus high in the Blessed Sacrament, as the smoke from an insense censer wafted in front of the canopy holding the Monstrance.

Then a troop of parishioners followed behind, joyfully singing praise & worship to our Lord Jesus.   (See a short video of the procession below. )
