GGUSD Hosts Basketball Invitational for Special Education Students
GGUSD's Adapted Physical Education Department and the Orange County Special Olympics partnered to host a basketball invitational for special education students last week. This is one of many wonderful events that our district hosts to bring special education and general education students together and to celebrate the abilities of all students.
GGUSD Student Leaders Highlight the Importance of Kindness

Clinton Elementary Students Take Field Trip to Ford Design Center
Ten Clinton Elementary sixth grade students were chosen to attend a field trip to Ford Motor Company’s design center in Irvine. The students were chosen thanks to the school's partnership with OC GRIP and while at Ford they learned about teamwork, grit, and how to persevere through difficult challenges. Students were also asked to draw a design for a car and out of 150 students, one Clinton student earned third place!
Officer Link Highlights the Importance of Making Good Choices Online
GGUSD and the Garden Grove Police Department partnered to create a series of public service announcement videos about the importance of making responsible choices online. Our School Resource Officers work hard to protect our schools and that includes investigating any and every possible threatening comment. Watch our video for more information!

GGUSD Leaders Show Off Their Holiday Spirit
No one loves the holiday season more than Parkview Elementary Principal Ryan Baker. The Parkview staff know how much he loves the holidays and they wrapped everything in his office from top to bottom in honor of his holiday spirit! 
Board of Education Trustee Walter Muneton attended Eisenhower Elementary School's "Snaps with Santa" event. Trustee Muneton, his wife, and their new baby took a photo with Santa's Helpers, also known as the amazing teachers at Eisenhower! 
GGUSD Launches ParentSquare to Expand Parent Communication
GGUSD has launched ParentSquare, an easy-to-use communication platform to reach and engage every parent, ensuring all parents have the opportunity to actively participate in their children’s education and stay up-to-date on district and school news. 

ParentSquare features:
  • district and school-wide mass notifications through voice, email, text, and new mobile application
  • district, school-wide, and classroom posts received as emails or texts by parents with two-way communication features
  • principal and teacher direct messaging with instant language translation using Google Translate
  • automated attendance notifications on student absences and tardies
  • school calendars and event rsvp’s
  • teacher to student communication for seventh through twelfth grade students

ParentSquare allows parents to choose how to receive school and classroom communication via email, text, or mobile application. Parents can also select when to receive messages either instantly or in digest format at the end of each day. Urgent school-wide messages can be sent through voicemail as well.  Parents will receive emails, texts, or voicemail messages to the email address or phone number on file with the school as part of the student enrollment process. 

Parents can download the GGUSD mobile application now on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 
 
GGUSD’s partnership with ParentSquare will enable a stronger dialogue between school and home, and will help empower everyone within the school community to stay connected and informed.
