Second Sunday after the Epiphany

Weekly Chimes

Hello Old Donation!

It is nice to be writing to you again, it has been quite a long time with how things have fallen. I hope each of you have begun an excellent foray into 2021 and are staying healthy and safe.

We have fully entered the season of Epiphany now, and though things have shifted again in presentation, our ministry is still going strong. Although you are not able to bear witness to the progress the way you might like, our building project is moving full steam ahead, which means the working rhythm of the office continues to be fluid. Right now, the best way to reach clergy and staff is by email. We have limited access to the phones at the moment, and Gretchen often is unable to hear it ring from where she is currently working. So please keep that in mind when you are trying to reach us!

We are unable to gather in person, but worship and Christian Formation continue. Tonight, join us on zoom at 7pm for our Christ in Our World formation series, focused on the book "Living into God's Dream: Dismantling Racism in America." This week, read chapters 5&6 to prepare! Tomorrow at 11am and 7pm there will be a zoom discussion on this week's readings from the Gospel of Mark (4:35-6:56). All details are below...

On Sunday, our worship will again be live-stream at 11:30am. Join us then, and be sure to tune in on time for the first part of our Virtual Talent Show! I've already received a couple of submissions, but we've got 5 weeks to fill, so keep them coming.

This weekend, we have two feeding ministries going on: JCOC on Saturday, and Feed My Sheep on Sunday. If you are interested in either, please reach out to Melissa Waide. Details are below this article.

Finally, thank you. Thank you for sticking with us, for sharing yourselves and finding new ways to be a community. We can do this!

In Christ,

Diocesan Town Hall Meeting - tomorrow, January 14, 6 to 8 p.m. via Zoom. As the pandemic continues to rage around us we are growing weary. We long for a place of rest, refreshment and rejuvenation. The Bishop and the Diocesan staff  invite you to a Town Hall meeting where you can do just that.  The meeting format will be a brief presentation by Bishop Susan and members of the Diocesan staff, followed by questions and answers. There will also be a time of scripture reading and prayer. Click here to get the log in information for this Zoom gathering. We hope you will join us.

Feed My Sheep & JCOC Feeding
We will gather at 9:00am this Saturday to prepare 140 meals for distribution. Space is limited due to COVID restrictions - you must RSVP to Melissa Waide if you'd like to help!
