Guy Harvey Research Institute Celebrates 20 Years
During November, the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation celebrated the 20th anniversary of the NSU Guy Harvey Research Institute, housed in the Halmos College of Natural Science and Oceanography.
NSU Trustee Appointed To The National Heart, Lung And Blood Advisory Council
Dr. Zachariah P. Zachariah will be part of a council that advises the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, the director of National Institutes of Health, and the director of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.

Halmos Faculty Publishes Microbiome Article in Nature Scientific Reports
Halmos biological sciences faculty member Andrew Ozga, Ph.D. was lead author in a paper entitled, “Oral microbiome diversity in chimpanzees from Gombe National Park”. This research is the first to examine the bacteria within the wild chimpanzee oral cavity.
Brian Creasman Named Kentucky’s 2020 Superintendent of the Year
Brian Creasman, Ed.D., a two-time graduate of NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice, has been named Kentucky’s 2020 Superintendent of the Year.
Pamela Swanson Named Colorado’s 2020 Superintendent of the Year
Pamela Swanson, Ed.D., graduate of NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice, has been named Colorado’s 2020 Superintendent of the Year.

Giving Tuesday At NSU Sets New Record With Support of NSU Alumni and Friends
NSU alumni, staff, faculty, and students came together on the Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving and philanthropy, to raise $62,842.01 for student scholarships, research initiatives, and more.
This exceeded the goal of $24K in 24 hours and set a new record for Giving Tuesday at NSU.
