Dear Parents of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,
Happy Advent! Last weekend, we entered the liturgical season of Advent. Advent comes from the Latin “adventus”, meaning “coming”. During this time, we prepare for two “comings”: the arrival of the infant Jesus through the Incarnation and the anticipated second coming of the Messiah. Many signs around us remind us of the upcoming arrival of Christmas: trees with ornaments, Advent hymns at Mass, 1st and 2nd graders preparing for their Christmas program, and Advent wreaths adorning our school and homes. As Father Kingsley shared at our school Mass this week, we must prepare for school by getting up, washing our face and changing out of our pajamas. Similarly, we must prepare our hearts for the blessing of the arrival of Christ. May your Advent be one full of Hope, Love, Joy and Peace.
Only by His Grace,
Veronica Tucker
