ABOUT JA EVENTS PROGRAMS
JA Career Bound Leads to Internship Opportunities!
It's the final week to register for our
2018-19 JA Career Bound program!

JA Career Bound graduate Geomani Brooks is learning new skills and making a difference at City Furniture this summer.

JA Career Bound is an 8-month cutting-edge, skills-building leadership program where select high school sophomore and junior students learn the skills necessary to succeed in today's workforce. After an opening retreat, students meet once a month for program days focused on specific industries.

Students visit South Florida premier businesses to see first hand what companies are looking for in future employees. They learn from top executives who share their journeys to success. Students put their skills into action participating in a business plan challenge and paid summer internships.

"I am now better prepared to succeed in the real world. JA Career Bound introduced me to professionals who shared their life experiences and it has motivated and inspired me to jump start my career!"  -Thomas Brelsford, JA Career Bound Graduate

The Application Deadline is August 1st!

Speaking of Interns...
Did you know July 26 is National Intern Day?

Junior Achievement of South Florida is proudly collaborating with several companies this summer - City Furniture, Florida Panthers, MassMutal, Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Centuric, just to name a few - and providing them with JA-trained interns who recently completed our JA Career Bound program.

Meet Kendryck -
a self-motivated and dedicated JA Career Bound graduate from Blanche Ely High School

With excellent computer skills, Kendryck has become a tremendous asset at Centuric - an IT company based in Fort Lauderdale.

At Centuric, Kendryck has been running daily back-up checks for all clients. He also is setting up a customer portal for support and helping customers reconfigure their photos for the new Universal Communications Plan.

"Having an intern work with Centuric for the summer was a great experience across the board. We were fortunate to work with Kendryck who wasn't just willing to learn the job, but wanted to learn as much as he could about all aspects of our business. It was a real pleasure working with the next generation and seeing his desire to grow." - Richard Rodriguez, Centuric and JA Board Member.

How much would you invest to
ensure a successful workforce for the future?

Hiring one of our interns means your industry will have a pipeline of qualified, prepared employees in the future. It's a great opportunity to cultivate the next generation of leaders in our community.
