Receive Statewide Recognition for Exemplifying 'One Water'

Call for nominations! Are you working on a project or program that addresses water issues in a holistic way? The New Jersey One Water Awards program  is now accepting nominations to recognize integrated, innovative, and collaborative efforts. Nominate a public, private, or nonprofit/academic entity today!

The 'One Water' approach believes that all water - drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater - has value that can be unlocked by implementing sustainable, inclusive, and integrated water resource management practices. Read about the previous winners.

Member Highlights

The Watershed Institute (formerly the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association) is accepting workshop proposals for the NJ Watershed Conference. Proposals are due June 1 .

The Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission welcomes Merchantville Mayor Edward (Ted) Brennan as assistant secretary/ treasurer of the commission.
A partnership between the Borough of Bound Brook and New Jersey American Water will give kayak and canoe enthusiasts a new access point to the Raritan River.
Middlesex Water Company recently broke ground on a 42-inch diameter underground water transmission main. This $52 million project will mitigate risks associated with aging infrastructure.
The Association of Environmental Authorities is accepting abstracts for presentations for AEA training programs,workshops, and conferences. Abstracts are due June 30. More information here.
The Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions featured an article in its Spring 2018 Report by Assemblyman John F. McKeon on fixing New Jersey's aging water infrastructure (see pp. 4-5).
Xylem was selected as the 2018 Water Technology Company of the Year by the Global Water Awards program.
Congratulations to Michele Putnam, Jersey Water Works Steering Committee member, for being promoted to assistant commissioner of the Office of Water Resources Management Coordination at the state Department of Environmental Protection!
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued its first-ever loan from the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act program.
The Township of South Orange Village and its partners are being recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council of NJ for their planning strategy to address stormwater.
The City of Hoboken and its partners are being recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council of NJ for their Southwest Resiliency Park.
Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission (PVSC) has been recognized for strategic excellence in wastewater management by the New Jersey Water Environment Association.
