GETTING IN THE SPIRIT & GREENING THE SANCTUARY
The Worship Council invites any and all who would like to help us with a fun, one-time effort to get our beautiful sanctuary ready for the holidays. We will gather at church on Saturday, December 14th at 11:30 to Deck our Halls. We have most of what we need to start, but still could use some garlands of artificial greens. (The fire marshal doesn't allow live greens, sadly.) We also invite all congregants to bring in poinsettia plants to contribute to the beautiful decorations. We will welcome new plants right up to Christmas, so bring them in anytime. Any questions, call Anne Turner at 415-3644.
FROM YOUR SEARCH COMMITTEE
We are celebrating a big milestone! December 1st was the deadline for our profile to go live on the UU website so that candidates can read all about us. We've completed this important phase of the process, and will be sharing much of that information on our church web page, where our congregants can access it as well. This week, the summary of the information we gathered at the Search Circles has been posted on the site. For the next month, we will be working to prepare for our next task, which is evaluating those candidates who indicate that they are interested in being considered by us. We will receive those names on January 1, and will begin the process of choosing who to interview.
PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGES DUE TO WEATHER

PEACE & JUSTICE WORK
The next First Tuesday is coming up on January 7, 2o20. Save the date!
OUR HALF-PLATE
Each Sunday, we donate half of our collection plate directly to projects and organizations that live and promote our shared values. Embracing our 5th UU principle, we covenant to use the democratic process in our congregation and society at large. The recipient of our half-plate this Sunday, the Maine Unitarian Universalist State Advocacy Network (or MUUSAN) helps us do just that. Connecting Maine’s 25 UU congregations to amplify our influence in social justice policy in Maine, MUUSAN focuses on four areas to: strengthen our democracy; achieve healthcare for all; slow the effects of climate change; and advocate on behalf of racial, native and immigrant populations. Please give generously to support the work of this important collaboration.
