Provincial Stay-at-Home Order
As announced by the Government of Ontario, a provincial emergency and stay-at-home order has been declared, effective at 12:01am, January 14, 2021.

The University of Windsor mandates that employees who are able to work remotely from home are required to do so.
How this impacts Campus Operations:
Staffing
  • Shift from "Essential Workers" to "Critical Workers" - which is a reduction in the number of some essential staff scheduled for an on-campus shift
  • Rotational shifts, as per notification from your supervisor, to commence for the following areas: Food Services, Custodial, Maintenance, Energy Conversion Centre and Chemical Control Centre
  • Visits to campus are for critical purposes only and must be approved
  • Staff approved to go on campus must complete the Safe Lancer App or online Self-Assessment questionnaire prior to heading to campus

Research
  • Researchers to reduce personnel and the number of hours spent on campus, as much as possible
  • Adhere to safe work practices as previously established
  • Research to limit after-hours activities, as much as possible
  • Until further notice, there will be no new training of personnel for research purposes
  • No new projects to be approved unless COVID-19 related
  • Students, Staff and Faculty approved for research must complete the Safe Lancer App or online Self-Assessment questionnaire prior to heading to campus

Face-to-face Courses
  • Only Clinical Courses in Nursing

Services
  • Listing of Available and Remote Services - no changes from Grey-Lockdown status
  • UWindsor Campus Bookstore will continue to fill orders through curbside pickup and mail
  • Leddy Library will maintain curbside pickup: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Pharmacy, Dentist and other third party vendors within CAW available by appointment only
  • Food Pantry at CAW Centre will remain open by appointment only
  • International and Students in Residence intake testing commences on January 15, 2021 as planned
  • Experiential Learning/Co-op placements remain as arranged
  • Student Health Services continue to be available remotely, call 519-973-7002 to book a telephone appointment

Residence
  • To maintain their robust intake plan including testing and modified quarantine
  • Students must adhere to stay-at-home order restrictions

Construction
  • Current construction projects to proceed as planned on campus

It is strongly recommended that all approved staff and faculty working in shared spaces and/or with face to face interactions, or those cleaning high touch contacts/areas, wear eye protection (face shield, safety glasses, goggles or equivalent) and a 3-ply procedural mask. These items can be obtained through the Chemical Control Centre.
The province's stay-at-home order and other new and existing public health restrictions are aimed at limiting people’s mobility and reducing the number of daily contacts with those outside an immediate household.
