Town of Palm Beach Encourages Donations to Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund with Match
The Town of Palm Beach United Way, in collaboration with the Town of Palm Beach, has started a Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund to assist with long-term recovery efforts in the Bahamas. John and Jana Scarpa have generously offered a dollar for dollar matching gift of up to $100,000 toward the Town of Palm Beach United Way and Town of Palm Beach Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund. The fund has so far collected $25,000 toward long-term relief efforts in the Bahamas.

Grant Opportunity: Allegany Franciscan Tau Grant
The first cycle of Tau Grants this year will support outreach for the 2020 Census for organizations, programs, or initiatives working in targeted communities that have historically low rates of participation in the Census. Requests up to $10,000 will be considered. Organizations must have an annual operating budget of $2 million or less to be eligible for a Tau Grant. Allegany invites organizations that are interested in applying to attend a webinar.

Scholarship Opportunity: NIIC Scholarship
Scholarship applications to attend NIIC 2019 are now open through September 13. Each year, to help ensure that the conference is accessible to the broadest possible audience, NIIC provides scholarships to grassroots and community leaders from across the U.S. Priority is given to those who are under represented at NIIC, have never attended in the past, are active in the fields of the immigrant advocacy or services and who would not otherwise be able to attend. The scholarships cover the NIIC registration fees, not travel expenses or lodging.
