Friends of Parks eNews
Greetings!

On behalf of the Board of Directors and team at the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, we wish to thank Wade Walcutt, recent Director of Cincinnati Parks for his vision and leadership over the last 2.5 years. Through Wade’s direction, we were able to accomplish many great projects - including the restoration of all five trails at French Park; a tranquil/meditative garden at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial; Ault Park Commons; accessibility at The Betty Gale Garden at the Krohn Conservatory and the exciting start of improvements at Burnet Woods (just to name a few). Wade was a dear friend to many of us, and we wish him and his family much happiness.

We welcome Kara Kish, Interim Director of Cincinnati Parks into her new role. We are excited to work alongside Kara and support her vision of our top-rated urban park system!

Cincinnati Parks Foundation continues to be inspired and thankful for all of YOU, our Friends of Parks. We are grateful for the many talented and generous individuals who work within Cincinnati Parks, those with passion so immense and sincere, it is inspirational.

Please take a moment to read through our October Friends of Parks eNews edition to learn more about what we’ve been up to lately. Wishing you and yours a sweet moment of pause throughout this fall season. Hope to see the colors change soon.

With gratitude,

Jennifer Hafner Spieser
Executive Director
When the Woods Can Heal
Four Seasons in Burnet Woods book cover
Everyone knows Burnet Woods is a wonderful gem in the heart of Clifton, but did you know that these woods can heal?

Spending time in nature can improve your mood, physical health and mental well-being. Take a look at our dear friend, Rama's story and be inspired by what the woods can do for you!

"Paying attention to nature’s beauty and how the same scene changed from season to season helped Rama focus on something other than her worries — something beautiful.

So beautiful, in fact, that she started taking pictures. Eventually she transformed her struggle with cancer into a book of photos she took while she was in the fight of her life."

You can order a copy of Rama's book by emailing: fourseasonsinburnetwoods@gmail.com
