ART ROOM UPDATE
At SCCS, we strive to ensure every student has an effective learning space. While our building is beautiful, we do have space issues because of changes in instructional delivery and programming, and the expansion of our preschool program. The concerns about our art rooms are part of this larger issue. Though the suggestion to repurpose the art room was not made lightly, we understand why our students and alumni are concerned.

After meeting with several student groups, we have decided to delay this decision for a year. In that time, we will work with our students and alumni to find a solution that addresses our space concerns and preserves the artwork and traditions we love. The key will be to find a long-term solution that helps SCCS manage its growth while providing every student the tools they need to succeed.

Finding a good solution in the midst of many imperfect ones will be difficult, but we are proud of our students for using their voices to advocate for their beliefs and to be a part of the solution.
