Dear Hotchkiss Families,
During these tumultuous days, above all else, I hope this message finds you all healthy and safe.
Here in Lakeville, as we focus on the School's response to COVID-19 and planning for the upcoming academic year, we are highly aware of the impact the pandemic is having on families. With that in mind, I am pleased to announce the following changes to the business calendar, which are intended to provide your family with additional flexibility.

The due date for your family's first tuition payment has been extended to July 1. Previously, for many families, this date was June 1. This change applies regardless of the payment plan your family has selected (a single lump sum; two 50% payments; or 10 equal payments). For families who have already scheduled automatic payments, these will not begin until July 1.

If your family has elected tuition reimbursement insurance, billing for this coverage will not begin until August 20. Previously, billing would have begun on July 1. Tuition insurance is required unless you plan to make one single tuition payment on July 1, in which case tuition insurance is optional.

In the regrettable event that you decide to withdraw your student from Hotchkiss, you will be eligible for a full refund, including any deposit paid, as long as your request is made prior to July 15. After this date, the terms of your enrollment contract will be binding. Requests for withdrawal should be made in writing to Erby Mitchell P'21, the dean of admission and financial aid.
Hotchkiss anticipates being in a position to announce plans for the fall before July 15. By extending the reimbursement deadline to this date, we want to ensure that your family has the flexibility you need with respect to your financial commitment.
