Tilton Families,

Thank you to those who have returned your Day Student Return to School Google Form shared on Saturday, 1/9. If you have not done so already, please complete this today. This email contains more specific information about our return. Those who requested to quarantine on campus will receive the Boarding Student version of this letter within the next few days. Please do not hesitate to follow-up with questions or requests for clarification. Please let Ms. deVeaux know right away if you have requests for specific meals, activities, or have other ideas for the winter!

Before you move ahead in this document, it is important that you re-review the Ram Nation Community Pact and consider your ability and willingness to adhere to all of the expectations. With rising community rates and spread, we will strictly enforce these expectations. Students should opt to or will be asked to remain remote and/or virtual if they are unable to follow masking and other important health protocols. No matter your personal feelings about masks and restrictions, we all must commit to our community expectations to make this year work.

DAY STUDENTS

Prior to Return:

  • All day students MUST obtain a COVID-19 test on or after January 17th and provide the results to The Health Center by January 23rd.
  • Day students will report to campus for pool testing on January 24th and January 30th. Instructions will be shared later this week for the mandatory pool testing.
  • Students must notify the Tilton Health Center if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days.
  • Day students are to quarantine at home while our boarding community quarantines on campus beginning January 24th*.
  • Alternatively, please indicate on the Day Student Return to Campus Google Form shared on 1/9 if you would like to quarantine on campus. These requests are due TODAY. We will contact you later this week with placement information. (Please note, day students may not park vehicles on-campus during quarantine.)
  • Complete your daily self-screening using REACH throughout your quarantine.

*Please note this correction to Saturday’s correspondence which incorrectly identified 1/30 as the date for home quarantine to begin. Day student quarantine aligns with boarding student quarantine which begins 1/24.

Dates of Return:

  • You will receive correspondence from the Health Center regarding testing on January 24th and 30th, as well as a process if you plan to use NH State testing as an alternative.
  • Depending on the results of our community COVID-19 testing scheduled for January 30th, we will anticipate the beginning of in-person learning and the start of full roster practices/activities as early as February 3rd and as late as February 8th. Day students will resume these activities alongside boarding students.

Upon Arrival:

  • Once we have ended campus quarantine and resume in-person learning/activities, day students should plan to continue submitting daily health screenings using REACH prior to coming to campus.
  • If at any time there is a concern of COVID-19 exposure for anyone in your household, please contact the Health Center to discuss precautions before coming to campus.

After Arrival:

  • Day students are asked not to enter residential halls.
  • Day students must sign in with the AOD at dinner if they intend to remain on campus after 7 pm. Any student not listed by the AOD on the sign-in will be asked to depart campus immediately.
  • Day students should watch weather reports closely and make decisions about travel conservatively. Without the ability to house day students in the dorm overnight, emergency accommodations are extremely limited.
  • Any student planning to park a vehicle on campus MUST be parked at the rink (MacMorran scholars and Proctors may park at Burch Field) and be registered with the Student Life Office to ensure our ability for snow removal and road maintenance.

What You Need to Do to Prepare:

  1. Complete the Day Student Return to Campus Google Form shared on Saturday 1/9 using your school account to provide us with important information about your return. This is due today.
  2. Schedule your COVID-19 PCR test for on or after January 17th and arrange to have your test results sent electronically to the Tilton Health Center.
  3. Make arrangements to quarantine beginning January 24th in preparation for your return to on-campus learning.

TESTING & QUARANTINE

We are employing the following key strategies during our winter re-population of campus in order to establish the health of our community:

  • We postponed the return to campus until Jan 22-23 to allow for the likely peak in post-holiday cases to subside and to allow for community members affected during the holiday period to quarantine/recover.
  • We will test early and frequently during quarantine in order to identify asymptomatic cases as quickly as possible to mitigate spread.
  • We will continue to test the community weekly during the winter.
  • We will ask day students to quarantine at home during the boarding students’ campus quarantine period.
  • We will strictly enforce protocol in order to provide the best opportunity for all of our students to remain on campus and participate in athletics, activities, and classes in-person.

Again, please reach out with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Ms. Love
