Bulgaria Celebrates
Marco's World
The 3w Logo
Our logo has three worlds with Europe and the Middle East visible.  The three colors represent the three worlds of Eastern Europe, Western Europe and the Middle East. They also represent how we divide our three areas of ministry. Most importantly, they represent the three worlds of Christianity: Traditional, Post-Christendom, and Non-Western. Visit our website www.three-worlds.com to learn more about "the Three Worlds of Christianity."

NATE & STACY TATMAN JOIN THE 3W TEAM

When the idea of Three Worlds was first in our minds in January 2010, we had an encounter with a mission pastor from Indiana named Nathan Tatman. He and his church were supporting Dave and Kathy Simpson in Bulgaria and he had recently returned from a mission trip there. We began to share the concept of Three Worlds with him and what we hoped to achieve in Europe and the Middle East. We immediately felt connected to Nate and Stacy and their lovely three children (at the time). Little did we know that this would lead to nine years of working closely together in multiple countries and projects in the region. And little did we know that one day Nate and Stacy would join us full-time on the field as associate regional coordinators.

As the Tatmans are raising funding this year, Nate continues as a pastor at County Line Church of God. He continues to work regionally in several areas. Most recently he has helped us develop the Europe X church planting network. Bringing health to churches and leaders is a passion of his and fits 3W's mission perfectly. Stacy continues to work full-time as a school nurse this school year. Stacy has joined 3W events over the years in Greece, Germany, and Spain and brings a wonderful combination of administrative and relational gifts to the team.

Over the years we have watched the three Tatman children, who were so well behaved and sweet, grow into amazing adults. Three years ago Daleska and Emily joined the family, adopted from Costa Rica, Patrick's homeland. The oldest, Dylan, married his bride Sara this past August 25. Kayla is a top student at Anderson University. Aubry just graduated from high school and, after a gap year, is planning on attending St. Louis University in Madrid, Spain. Both Kayla and Aubry have on several occasions provided childcare for our 3W staff meetings. Daleska is in 9th grade and Emily is in 5th.

The coming months are a busy time as Nate and Stacy are raising funds, working full-time, selling their home, and doing all the preparation necessary for a move overseas in the summer of 2020. Pray for them in this process and for the kids, especially Daleska and Emily, as they prepare for this huge transition. We are so excited at how this has come so full circle.

Check out the Tatman's blog at ourspanglishlife.com and prayerfully consider partnering with them on this amazing journey.  More info can be found here.

Summer Travels

T his summer proved to be very busy for our family, but we were glad to have the opportunity to travel together. In early June we visited the Paris @home ministry for some key meetings with staff. Then we celebrated the 125th Anniversary of the Church of God in Germany at a conference center near Hannover. It was exciting to see the younger generation featured in the preaching and the music ministry. Church of God Ministries General Director Jim Lyon was a featured speaker at this great event.

The next stop was the Church of God Convention in Orlando, Florida, where we held our 3W team meeting, met with other Global Strategy missionaries, and attended the convention. We were thrilled to see our new associate regional coordinators, Nate and Stacy Tatman, commissioned for missionary service. We were also thrilled to have Samir Salibi, pastor of @home Paris, interviewed by Jim Lyon about his powerful impact reaching out to refugees on the streets of the French capital.  Video here.

It was wonderful to connect with several of our partner churches: Antelope Road Christian Fellowship in Citrus Heights, California; Oak Park Church of God in Salem, Oregon; Aldergrove Church of God in Aberdeen, Washington; and Edmonds Church of God in Edmonds, Washington.

While on the West Coast, we were blessed to have time with family and friends as well. We don't have the opportunity to see them very often.

W ithout the love and support of family, friends, and churches, we wouldn't be able to continue in this work that we have been called to. We never take it for granted. We are seeking additional partners in ministry. If you would like more information, contact us here or visit our page on the Global Strategy website.

Bulgaria Church of God celebrates
100 Years

In August, the Church of God in Bulgaria welcomed visitors from the German Church of God, Hungarian Church of God, and former 3W teammates Dave and Kathy Simpson (Bulgaria), as well as 3W team members Zach Langford (3W-Liverpool), Daniel Kihm (3W-Hungary), and Regional Coordinator, Patrick. As regional coordinator, Patrick attended and preached at the final Sunday celebration.

Please take a moment to read this wonderful piece written by Kathy Simpson:  Bulgaria Celebrates 100 Years!

Excerpt:
" For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His faithfulness endures to all generations.  (NKJB) These words are a promise that the Bulgarian church held onto through two world wars, forty-four years of communism, abject
poverty following the fall of the Soviet system, and the rush to Western materialism."

It was a joy to celebrate with the brothers and sisters in Bulgaria.

MARCO'S WORLD

It's hard to believe that in two years Marco will be going off to college. We are definitely not prepared to be empty-nesters and are enjoying every single moment that we have with our boy, who is now 16 and beginning his junior year at Black Forest Academy.

T his summer, while visiting churches out on the West Coast, we were able to have eight different campus visits. Marco is quite interested in psychology and European history. We looked at programs in California, Oregon, and Washington state.

We all really enjoyed Pepperdine's beautiful campus in Malibu, as well as Point Loma Nazarene's campus in San Diego. In Seattle we visited Seattle Pacific University and loved exploring Queen Ann Hill. We were also able to visit UBC, Simon Frasier, and Trinity Western in Vancouver, Canada.

While we were in Los Angeles, a high school friend of Patrick's who works in Hollywood invited us to visit the set of the CBS television show S.W.A.T. We were able to watch the filming of a scene and explore the sets, try on the costumes and props, and talk to the crew and director. It was a really fun, new, and unusual experience for all three of us.
