Here are opportunities for workshops & professional development at Morehead State University:

Workshop series on Diversity (presenters include: Becky Davison, Jami Hornbuckle, Jeannie Justice, Lee Nabb, and Daryl Privott):
  • Social Justice, Diversity, & Equity in Higher Education - March 1st (Thursday) at 11am in Ginger 311 (21st Century Education Classroom)

The 21st Century Education Enterprise:
  • Breakout EDU (Chris Lacy, presenter) - Would you like to learn more about an immersive learning games platform that encourages learners to develop team building skills and critical thinking to solve a series of challenging puzzles in order to open the locked box? Includes: All Ages, All Content Areas, Active learning, The Four C's, and Cultivating Grit.   • Tuesday, February 27th - 5:00pm - Button Drill Room. Join us for a traditional SOUL Food Dinner. Experience delicious Soul Food and entertainment. Film Series: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
  • Wednesday, February 28th - 6:00pm - Radar 111. The true story of a woman's search for enlightenment about her mother whose 'immortal' cells would save millions of lives. Henrietta Lacks was an African-American woman whose cells were used to create the first immortal human cell line, known as HeLa.

Here are opportunities for students (and maybe you) on campus:

Career Services (ground floor of the Camden-Carroll Library):
  • Resume Blitz - February 21st (Today) and February 22nd (Tomorrow) from 10am to 2pm in the Career Services Center. Students may drop by and meet with an employer to get instant feedback on their resume.
  • Career Fair - March 6th (Tuesday) from 10am to 1pm in Laughlin Health Building Gym. Over 90 employers with job and internship opportunities plus graduate schools are expected!
  • Internship Basics Workshop - March 13th (Tuesday) from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in the Career Services Center. Learn the basics of internships and co-ops: Why should you get one? Where do you begin searching? How do you receive academic credit for your work? Attend this workshop to learn all of this and much more.
  • Education Career Fair - March 27th (Tuesday) from 3:30pm to 6pm at Kroger Field in Lexington, KY. Network with dozens of school districts from the region at this event.

Celebration of Student Scholarship
The 13th Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship will be
Wednesday, April 25th, 2018

Student participants (both poster and oral presentations) must use the Abstract Submission Form on our Celebration webpage to submit abstracts of work to be presented. Abstracts must be submitted via e-mail attachment to: ugrc@moreheadstate.edu . The maximum length of abstracts is 200 words. In order to allow time for the abstract booklet and program to be printed, the deadline for submission of abstracts is Monday, March 19, 2018, by 8:00 AM .  
 
Document Services (Allie Young 14) will print student PowerPoint posters free of charge if submitted no later than 4:30 PM on Friday, April 20, 2018 .
 
No exceptions or extensions can be made to the deadlines above for abstract submissions or for poster submissions for printing.

The Kentucky Journal for Excellence in College Teaching and Learning is a peer - reviewed electronic Journal sponsored by the Kentucky Council for Post Secondary Education Faculty Development Group. The Journal is published by the College of Education, Eastern Kentucky University. General categories for articles include theory, research, and practice. In addition, the Journal will publish manuscripts containing book or media reviews, profiles, and commentary. The Journal targets the professional development of college and university faculty within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Its primary goal is to enhance student learning by promoting excellence in teaching in higher education institutions in Kentucky. Kentucky Student Success Summit 2018
The 7th annual Kentucky Student Success Summit will explore the theme "The Future of Undergraduate Education, The Future of Kentucky!"

This national conference is sponsored by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. It is held annually at the Richmond campus of Eastern Kentucky University. This year's conference theme is "Student-Centered Teaching and Learning." Kentucky Convergence Conference
Save-The-Date: October 17-19, 2018

The 2018 Kentucky Convergence Conference will be held October 17-19 at the University of Louisville Shelby Campus. The call for proposals will be issued in spring 2018. This year’s theme is “The Next Reality: Doing it Farther, Faster, and Better.”

Convergence is the single event that brings together professionals in information technology, academic libraries, online learning, and instructional design from all the public and private colleges and universities in Kentucky and the surrounding states.
