Advocacy on Vaccination Reporting to OPWDD
Representatives from The Arc New York, The New York Alliance, and Cerebral Palsy Association of NYS met with The Office for People with Disabilities (OPWDD) leadership this morning to discuss potential improvements to the vaccination reporting system. We have heard concerns from a number of our Chapters regarding difficulties they are experiencing with reporting, especially the volume of emails generated by the Redcap system. This meeting aimed to address these concerns and work collaboratively toward solutions.

OPWDD must meet certain reporting requirements as part of the state's larger vaccination data collection effort. However, their leadership is willing to address some of the current issues to ensure the reporting process is as simple and efficient for providers as possible.

We advanced a number of suggestions this morning, and OPWDD committed to exploring the feasibility of these options. The same representatives will meet again later this week to discuss those findings and next steps. We will share any potential improvements to the process with you in advance of implementation.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with your thoughts on the vaccination reporting process.
