New Year. New beginnings.
Message from the Nulsen Family
Executive Director
Happy New Year!

In these challenging times, I remain inspired and hopeful about this coming year. Our focus on building stronger family relationships as the foundation for amplifying the capacity of families around the world to create economic value and social impact is more important than ever! We are thrilled to offer our virtual Family Entrepreneurship Journey program in the month of March to Babson students, parents, alumni and friends. See below for more details!

Two of our core student programs, the Family Entrepreneurship Amplifier Program, created by Professor Matt Allen, and the Family Entrepreneurship Peer Forum are now available to alumni and friends. Our Alumni Peer Forum program draws on Entrepreneurial Leadership concepts, including this article which describes some of my research into best practices for young people entering a family business.

Externally, we've also expanded our programs to the larger family entrepreneurship community. In addition to our custom family advisory services, we have added a new Private Workshop Series for family businesses and their employees. By bringing global thought leaders together, we're positioning the IFE as the lifelong education partner for family entrepreneurs around the world.

I want to thank all of you who have provided support and guidance to the IFE and our students. We couldn’t do it without you! We look forward to seeing you at our programs and events in the coming months. May the year 2021 be full of joy and new possibilities!

Sincerely,
Thought Leadership
A Market Focus for Entrepreneurial Opportunities
by Matt Allen, Associate Professor and
Founder of the Family Entrepreneurship Amplifier Program
As a new year begins, we often see the transition as an opportunity for a fresh start. With this year’s transition especially, all of us are looking to 2021 with the idea that it can’t possibly be worse than 2020. As we look to this new year and consider what we can do differently and what needs to be improved, one question that many business families will ask is: How can be more effective at adapting to the everchanging business environment in which we operate. Even before the pandemic began, the rate of change in just about every market was accelerating. Now, more than ever, business families need to be ready and willing to adapt and change with the changing times.
