Intergenerational Water Communion Service

This lively intergenerational service will include story, song, reflection, and ritual. Come to explore and celebrate your part in our covenantal community.  Our children's choir, directed by Jill Courtney, will be performing.  If possible, please bring a small container of water representing the essence of your summer experience, near or far. 
This Week in Religious Education: Water Communion
We encourage all children, youth and families to attend our Intergenerational Water Communion to celebrate our community coming together. Childcare is available in Room 108. Splash of the Sacred Picnic & Pool Party
Sunday, Sept 2, 5 - 8 pm 
You are invited to join us for our annual Splash of the Sacred Picnic & Pool Party at Bryan Park, this Sunday evening! Newcomers and visitors are especially welcome. Please note: c hildren must have adult supervision at all times.

5 - 7 pm  Potluck Picnic at Bryan Park, Woodlawn Shelter, by the pool. Bring a dish to share and your own table service.

7 - 8 pm  Private pool party at Bryan Park Pool. Come splash and play or sit poolside and chat! It's free -- paid for by our Celebrations budget.

Last Week to Sign Up for Chalice Circles!
Spaces are filling up fast! Chalice Circle sign ups will continue this Sunday, September 2, and the groups are filling up quickly. We have added a Monday evening Chalice Circle. The groups meet September through May -  click here to learn more about Chalice Circles.
UU Freethinkers Meet Sunday at 12:45 p.m.
The UU Freethinkers discussion group will meet this Sunday at 12:45 p.m. in Room 208 for an open and non-structured discussion of issues of social, political, and theological/religious concern. 
Final week to register: Exploring Unitarian Universalism Class September 9 and 16
This is the final week to register for the upcoming Exploring Unitarian Universalism (U.U.) class, held on September 9 and 16, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the church library. Exploring U.U. is a two session class that teaches about U.U. principles, history, ways to get involved at the church, church membership, and more. We ask for completion of this class before becoming a member. Please plan to attend both sessions, since different material will be covered in each session. Register by signing up at the Welcome Table in the church foyer, or emailing Ann LeDuc at [email protected].
Women's Alliance Meets September 6
Liz Watson will discuss health care issues at the Women's Alliance meeting on Thursday, September 6. We gather at 11:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall for a brown bag lunch. The presentation begins at noon, followed by  a question and answer period and a business meeting. The hosts for  the month, Barb Backler and Martha Foster, will provide drinks and  dessert.
A Seat at the Table Candidate Discussions 
September 7 and September 9
"A Seat at the Table: Midterm Candidate Discussions," aims to promote civic engagement as well as dialogue between the public and candidates running for office. The event will occur over two days, Friday,  September 7th 10:30 am till 9:00 pm and Sunday, September 9th  6:00 pm till 9:00 pm here in our Meeting Room. Candidates from all parties running for many local midterm contested offices were invited to participate. Click here for schedule.
People's Climate March - Indianapolis - September 8th 
The Green Sanctuary Task Force encourages you to participate in the People's Climate March in Indianapolis on Saturday, September 8, starting at 10:00 a.m. on the east lawn of the Indiana Statehouse, joining in solidarity with marches around the country. Following the March is a community forum from 11:30 a.m until 1:00 p.m. RSVP is strongly encouraged at actionnetwork.org/events/rise-for-climate-action-indy . Buy Grocery Cards on Sunday and Support the Church
We have grocery gift cards for sale in the Commons every Sunday between services. The participating grocery stores send a percentage of your purchases back to the church to support our operating budget. We have gift cards for Bloomingfoods and Lucky's and you can register your Kroger Plus card by clicking here. Our new Kroger organization ID number is  EW763.
