Spring 2020: Mindfulness - Educator Self Care Seminar

While education is a rewarding and important service, the reality is that many of your teachers and school employees may be considering leaving the profession or switching districts. This is likely because they are experiencing one or more of the following:

  • the level of commitment and workload is too high
  • they lack a healthy work-life balance
  • the stress of school is being brought home into relationships
  • a school culture steeped in complaining is exhausting stress-related health issues are rising

Do you want to feel rejuvenated as an educator? This seminar will give educators tools to: reduce stress and anxiety, understand the power of gratitude, learn to live in the present moment and mindfulness techniques, retrain their thought process away from negative cycles, increase resiliency and longevity in their careers and life, and improve quality of work/life balance.

In schools where educator self-care is nurtured, retention increases, teachers call in sick less often, and employees experience fewer stress-related illnesses resulting in fewer non routine doctor visits.

Most importantly, as the adults in our school buildings learn to find more contentment, the impact is far reaching - student academic achievement and social and emotional skills will also increase. Learning to practice mindfulness is one of the most effective ways to address the issue of teacher self-care and well being.
