On Sunday, June 3rd join the Parkinson Association for the 16th Annual Vitality Walk at Wash Park in Denver or  Sandstone Ranch in Longmont - or Choose to Snooze!

This year marks our Sweet 16
th Annual Vitality Walk and our goal is to have more than 1,600 individuals participate in promoting community awareness about Parkinson's and raise over $250,000 to support our programs and services.

Iron Horse Bicycle Classic

Durango, Colorado 

Join the Davis Phinney Foundation Victory Crew® and the Parkinson Association of the Rockies at the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic in Durango. Each year, the Victory Crew team rides and raises funds to help people with Parkinson's live well today. Registration fees vary per rout e. Choose between: $99 for the 50-mile McDonalds Citizen's Tour to Silverton, $55 for the 25-mile Quarter Horse route to Purgatory, Free 25-mile Parkinson's Peloton to Purgatory on pedal assist bike.  Of the funds raised through this event, 50% goes right back into the Durango community to support local classes for people living with Parkinson's. Parkinson's Music, Art, Dance Showcase 
Saturday, May 26 | 1:00 - 4:00pm
Blackbox Theatre of the Colorado Ballet, 1075 Santa Fe Dr., Denver

Join us for a showcase of all the local talent our community has to offer! This demonstration will include group classes from Denver Metro and surrounding area. Performances include Denver's Rhythm and Grace: Dance for PD®, Tango for Parkinson's and Ballroom for Parkinson's; Boulder's Tremble Clefs and Dance for PD®; Art as Action's Reconnect with your Body in Arvada and Broomfield; Aurora's Good Vibrations; and Westminster's P.E.A.C.E. art program. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. All proceeds benefit the Parkinson Association of the Rockies. Minimum donation $10.00/person requested. Parkinson Association Support Group Updates

Young Onset Support Group May Location Change
The Young Onset Support Group will host its May meeting at the Rock Bottom Brewery, 9627 E. County Line Rd., Centennial. The group will be meeting on Friday, May 18th at 6:00pm.  

New Location for Estes Park Support Group
The Estes Park support group has moved to the Estes Valley Public Library,  335 E. Elkhorn Ave., Estes Park. The group will still be meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2:00pm. 

Support Group Leader Summit

Join the Parkinson Association of the Rockies for the Summer 2018 Support Group Leaders Summit. Those currently acting in a leadership role are welcome to attend. This year's summit will focus on defining support group roles and responsibilities while also sharing tips, resources and best practices. The Parkinson's Playbook

their caregivers, providing them with the knowledge needed to proactively
defend themselves against the progression of Parkinson's disease with energy,
vitality, and confidence. Author, Parkinson's patient and Park Hill resident
Robert Smith has prepared an enlightening and engaging guide to help tackle
Parkinson's head on. The Parkinson's Playbook also features guidelines on how
to assemble a line-up of medical and emotional support systems, insight into
the importance of exercise to boost strength and relieve stress, and an easy-to implement dietary program for well-being. For more information email Robert.

Pedaling 4 Parkinson's
Saturday, June 16
Sweetwater Park, 8300-1/2 Sweet Water Rd., Lone Tree

Pedaling 4 Parkinson's draws hundreds each year to join the fight against Parkinson's disease. This year they will be starting and ending at Sweetwater Park in Lone Tree. Riders can choose from three routes - 60-Mile, 40-Mile and 10-Mile. All money raised from riders will be donated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research .
