Here's what's new on the Swift County 4-H website this month!
Change of Date: 4-H records are due September 21

All 4-Hers are encouraged to submit records. It's a great way to complete the 4-H year and reflect on your projects and learning. Records are due to the Extension Office by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 21.

Now accepting 4-H awards applications and nominations

Each year 4-Hers have the opportunity to apply for awards and recognition. This is a great way to celebrate your accomplishments and involvement. A list of awards and all applications are posted to the website. Applications and Nominations are due by Friday, September 21.

Make plans to attend the Fall Leader Training and Federation Meeting

The annual required Fall Leader Training will be held on Tuesday, October 9 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the WCROC in Morris. A meal will be provided. Each club must have at least one adult member in attendance to receive your club charter for 2018-2019.

4-H Awards Program scheduled for October 14 

Come celebrate your 4-H accomplishments from the past year at the annual 4-H Awards Program on Sunday, October 14 at 4:00 p.m. at the E Free Church in Benson.

Watch for information coming soon about re-enrollment!

Re-enrollment for the 2018-2019 4-H program year will open mid-September.

Interim 4-H State Leader Jennifer A. Skuza reflects on her long history with 4-H and University of Minnesota Extension. She invites 4-H youth, families and volunteers to connect with her at the Minnesota State Fair.
 
If you're going to the state fair, don't forget to download the NEW 4-H at the Minnesota State Fair app! You'll be able to find everything 4-H at the fair, keep up with judging results and livestock show staging announcements, and much more.
 
Youth on state fair show committee - apply today to become a youth member on a state fair show committee. This is for youth in grades 9 through one year post high school. Apply by Sept. 15 for a position starting in early October.
 
Registration for Citizenship Washington Focus, a week-long trip to Washington, DC, will open in fall 2018 for the summer 2019 experience. Youth gain civic engagement skills while touring DC with youth from across the US! Complete a short survey to receive a reminder email when registration material is posted.
 
Volunteers give much to the Minnesota 4-H program! Consider nominating an outstanding volunteer for a 2019 4-H Salute to Excellence Award. All nomination materials are due by Sept. 15, 2018.

Fall 2018 SS&W leader certification training materials are now posted! Adults and youth (9th grade and older) are invited to attend this Sept. 29-30 training at the Gopher Campfire Conservation Club in Hutchinson. Be prepared for the new 4-H year with trained volunteers - register by Sept 12!

Plan to attend annual volunteer training this fall
Powerful things happen for youth when they're in a positive relationship with caring adults. The 2018 annual volunteer training, "4-H Grows Relationships," will ready youth and adult volunteers to connect to young people in meaningful ways. Watch for dates and locations across the state this fall and plan to bring a team of youth and adult volunteers.
