Phyllis Limbacher Tildes is an award-winning author and illustrator of children's books. She received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and was chosen to study in Rome, Italy as a European Honor Student in her senior year. While still a student, she was a designer for Hallmark and upon graduation became Assistant Art Director at Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College. For 20 years she had her own graphic design business in Hartford, CT.

Phyllis' first picture book, Counting on Calico, was published in 1995. Since then she has done 23 books for Charlesbridge Publishing, with subjects such as pets, nature, and childhood milestones. The Magic Babushka was her first folktale created in honor of her grandmother. Eight of her books have been translated and published in Korea, and two are also in a Spanish version. Her latest book, Baby's First Book of Birds and Colors was released in May 2017. Phyllis is currently working on her 24 th book that will feature local wildlife in a fun Easter themed picture book.

In addition to book illustrations and other forms of fine art, Phyllis loves doing pet portraits, capturing the life force and personality of the animal. Working from her own photos or those by the owner, she is thrilled when the finished piece brings a tear to the eye of the pet owner and they exclaim, "That looks just like him/her!" She works mostly in oil but also offers to do a portrait in watercolor or colored pencil.

Phyllis will display some of her commissioned pet portraits in the showcase. These will be prints since all originals are in the homes of clients throughout the country. During the Opening Reception on August 2 from 5 to 6:30, she will also be on hand to discuss custom options and also, personalize her various award winning books which will also be on display for purchase.

Phyllis and her husband, Bill, moved to The Landings in 1999. Inspired by the natural beauty of our island, she also enjoys doing landscapes in oil and has done many on commission. To visit her studio or have a book signed, you may call her at (912)598-9125.

Victoria May Collett moved from Australia to the US via South East Asia and Europe in the mid-seventies landing and working in New York as an Operating Room nurse. She moved to Savannah in 2008. When not at her day job in scrubs at Memorial Health Hospital, Victoria is immersed in the fine arts. She has extensive training in watercolor, oils and print-making.
She studied printmaking, monoprints, etching, and lithography sprinkled liberally with paper-making and other nuances of the print world. Her training ranged from the Brooklyn Museum Art School to the Ruth Leaf Studio on Long Island in New York. Further expanding her printmaking skills, Victoria attended NYU with viscosity printmaking became Victoria's drug of choice.

Since living in the south, Victoria has studied watercolor with Wayne Chambers, Tony Van Hasselt and Rebecca Willis. Her preference is landscapes of the extensive marshland pocketing Georgia coastline. Occasionally, she deviates but not often.

Victoria is also a published writer of short stories and longer ones too. She collaborated with two exceptional writers, Landings residents, Bob Fogarty and Corinne Webner to write Murder in the Village Library. Somewhere in all this, she holds a Master of Arts in Writing from Manhattanville College in New York.

Victoria has exhibited at Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY; Ruth Leaf Studio, Douglaston, NY; the former Wayne Chambers Gallery, Savannah; Hospice Savannah; Sunflower Gallery, Ocracoke Island, NC; and Dr. Michael Ettinger's waiting  room, NY plus numerous other studios and last but not least, is held extensively in private collections throughout the US and Australia.
