Tiverton Library News and Events
September 2018
The Library will be CLOSED on Monday, September 3rd for LABOR DAY.  The library will reopen on Tuesday, September 4th at 1:00PM.
We'll Get By With a Little Help From our Friends!
If you're reading this, most likely you're already a member of the Friends of Tiverton Libraries paying annual dues ($10 per individual) and otherwise supporting library programming through participation, book or craft sale donations/purchases and maybe through volunteering for/at the sales. Yaaaaay and thank you!

Consider serving as a Friends board member as well. Simply put, we are 501c3 organization that requires a board to exist. New board members are needed to replace those who have already served and to energize library support in new ways.

We strive to keep monthly meetings welcoming, upbeat and reasonably brief with two annual offsite meetings featuring potluck meals. There is nothing boring about the board. For more information about the Friends, check the library website, the Friends display case, and information at the library Info Desk.  If you're interested in board participation, please leave your contact information at the Info Desk or by calling the library at 625-6796.
Coming Next Month, Our Third Annual

Tiverton Library Foundation News
The Rhode Island Council on the Arts has recently awarded $1,500 to the Tiverton Library Foundation for the project to create large scale ceramic murals in the Lobby and Children's Room of the Tiverton Library. This is RISCA's third grant for the multi-year project. The community, from young children to senior citizens, has been involved with artists Mika Seeger and Peter Geisser in creating art that depicts the essence of Tiverton. This summer the artists are firing the pieces in preparation for installation later this year.
The next meeting of the Friends of Tiverton Libraries will be held on Wednesday, September 19th at 7PM in the Trustees Room.  New members always welcome.

Pardon Gray Day is Saturday, September 15th, 10am-4pm at the Pardon Gray Preserve.  Stop by the library table under the tent and say hello to the Friends, Foundation, and Trustees.  Picture from the 2017 Pardon Gray Day, with Friends members Pat Atkinston-Santos and Celia VanHof.  Come check out the goings on in and around the library community.
