2018 What's Poppin' Edition 3
Fall Product Sale Registration
If you haven’t signed up yet to participate in the Fall Product Sale (Popcorn and Jut Sale), and there are a few of you, there is still time. In order to place an order you must have an account with Trails End. Even if you sold in the past you must register to be able to place an order in 2018. How do you sign up? It’s easy. Just click on the link on the website under Fall Product Sale that says “Register for the 2018 Product Sale,” or go to https://scouting.trails-end.com/tools/recruit/signup?council=cb5b9955-f21c-11e5-a5eb-0632e198f0a5&campaign=6c8eb7a2-eb34-11e7-845d-0ea49884a45e .

You will then receive a follow-up email from us requesting a little additional information. The 2018 Popcorn committee has worked hard to make this the best sale yet and is very excited. We hope you are to.

Reminders and Tips - Unit Kickoff
If you haven’t yet planned your unit Kickoff, be sure to do so soon. This is one of the Top 5 rules for success to have a Great Sale:

1.      Kernel Recruitment
2.      Goal Setting
3.      Establishing a Plan
4.      Unit Kickoff
5.      Communication with your Members and Families

This is your BEST opportunity to sell your unit and families on why they need to have a successful sale. Your key objectives are to emphasize what the Scouts will receive for hitting their goal; prizes, Scouting programs, camp, dues reduction, etc. and to get Scouts and families excited! For additional details, if you didn’t see them before, check out What’s Poppin’ Issue 2 on the council website on the dropdown menu under Fall Product Sale.
Council Popcorn Machine
The popcorn machine is available for units to borrow for their Kickoff and Show and Sell Events this fall! It’s a great way to help generate excitement for the sale!! You can down load the request form and return it to Leisha, leishamarie.rivera@scouting.org to schedule the use of it. Machine use is on a first come first served basis. As long as the machine is being used as part of your sale there is no fee. Use of the machine includes corn and oil packets, the first 5 packets are free. Additional packets are available at $1.00 each. Each packet feeds approximately 10 people. Please be sure to clean the machine before returning. If you would like to use the machine for other events there is a small cost.
Past Issues
Missed a “What’s Poppin’” or accidentally deleted it. Don’t worry. There is an archive of past issues on the Council Website. Just go to http://padutchbsa.org/popcorn/whats-poppin/ , look at the menu on the left hand side and click on “What’s Poppin’,” and pick the issue you are looking for.
