Summer was busy for us here at WNY United.   Read on to see what we accomplished this summer and what's coming up!
New School Partnership

WNY United is always looking to build relationships and partner with schools who find our prevention education services needed and valuable to their student population.

We are excited to announce a new partnership with West Buffalo Charter School for the 2018/2019 school year.   This new partnership will receive our Kindergarten - 6th grade curriculum as well as receive our full Ripple Effects program. At the end of the year, we will start recruiting for the Leaders In Training program for the 7-8 grade students.

Prevention Specialist Amanda Heftka will deliver the curriculum and Lisa Burgess will be the Ripple Coach!

Welcome West Buffalo Charter School!

Leaders In Training Summer Program

The Leaders In Training summer program just ended.  What a great summer it was for our staff and 100 future leaders.
Summer Billboard Campaign

WNY United, Erie County Sheriffs Office, NACS, PreventionFocus, the Center for Health and Social Research through Buffalo State, and Consumer's Beverages partnered to put 15 billboards out this summer.  It was focused on reminding parents to be a positive influence.
Drive Against Drugs Golf Tournament

The 14th annual Drive Against Drugs golf tournament was Monday, August 6th at Orchard Park Country Club.

A special thank you to our Gold Sponsor Greene & Associates and John Lunn & Associates for their support.

The day was a huge success thanks to everyone who golfed and supported the event.  Check out our website to read all about it and our sponsor and donors.
Sheriff's Corner

Hope everyone is having a great summer! As we enjoy the remaining few weeks and prepare for another school year, let's remind our children to make smart and healthy choices!

Talk to your children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Talk to them about peer pressure,  and remind them that it's their body and to keep it healthy.

Remember, if you don't talk to your children about drugs and alcohol, somebody else will, and it could be the wrong message.

That's all for this month! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
