The results for the Primary Election on August 28, 2018 for candidates on ballots in Palm Beach are shown in this article. Palm Beach turnout at the polls on Tuesday was very light and we're still waiting to hear about overall turnout and specific results from precincts in Town. However, the Civic Association Online Voters Guide showed over 14,400 views so there was tremendous interest in the Primary Election.

Request denied: Florida Supreme Court Won't Hear Challenge of Six Proposed Amendments
Without comment, the Florida Supreme Court has rejected former chief justice Harry Lee Anstead's request for oral arguments to challenge six proposed constitutional amendments, including Amendment 8. Anstead and former Elections commissioner Robert Barnas have contended the six measures are unconstitutionally bundled.

Palm Beach to Issue up to $60 Million in Bonds for Utility Burial
With two lawsuits resolved and a $22.6 million loan nearly spent, Palm Beach is moving forward and will soon issue bonds to finance a bulk of the cost of burying all overhead utility lines on the island. Earlier this month, the Town Council unanimously approved up to $60 million in bonds to be issued for 30 years.

A dismayed and frustrated Palm Beach Architectural Commission last week sent a clear message to the Town Council and others involved in building the controversial and much-delayed recreation center. The compound's architecture, the board agreed, shouldn't be compromised just because the council is wrestling with an unexpected budget crunch.

Someone Donated $100,000
to Palm Beach - Again
Palm Beach recently received a $100,000 donation from a resident. The Town Council formally accepted the donation during last week's council meeting. Town Manager Kirk Blouin said the donor wished to remain anonymous. The same donor also gave the town $100,000 last year, according to Blouin.

Three Down, One Concrete Pour to Go at Former Testa Site in Palm Beach
The third of four large concrete pours at the historic Testa site was completed without any problems, Cody Crowell, managing director of construction for the Frisbie Group, said Wednesday. Coastal Construction, the project's general contractor, handled the pour from the Royal Poinciana Way side of the 1.3-acre site, Crowell said.
